Last two movies have been a textbook example of wasted opportunity When you've got actors as good as Waltz and Malek and write such under utilized parts for them there is something very wrong.
Bardem got a really nice bad guy part, lots of screen time and inventive demonstrations of how much of a nasty person he was, meaningful motivation, and quality lines.
Then ????
Out of all the options the best bad guy in this instalment was the scientist. A believable character with no morals to get in the way of his passion.
The Named Henchman didn't hench all that well, he just kept reappearing. The two bosses had shockingly low screen time and impact. Waltz's character has always had too many loose screws to be a good villain and now Malek comes along and does a whole load of weird stuff with suspect motivations after getting a very respectable revenge.
