I think Noctua make some of the best coolers and fans going. The quality of everything is just fantastic. They also have superb after sales support. They sent me a complete mounting kit for my D14 for free after I asked if they could sell me just the backplate as I bent mine.

I really must applaud Noctua. I've just fitted an NH-U12S and not only was it the easiest cooler to fit that I've ever had the temps are insane. Even though mine is one of the smaller ones. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the whole package. I know they are pricey but IMHO it's worth it.

For reference I previously had the Antec Kuhler 920 and the NH-U12S is quieter and cools better imho. Wish I could fit the NH-D15 in my case!

TBH who spends their day looking at the open side of a PC going "Well the performance is great but I don't like the colour!"

I'd say 99% of PC's will sit under a desk and the insides will rarely, if ever, be seen and, at the end of the day, it's performance that should count.

Had a Silver Arrow, and while it cooled like a beast, I didn't like the weight on the motherboard (even if it could handle it!). Whenever I shifted my PC around the extra stress of me picking it up/putting it down made me worry it could just be too much one day.

I just run a H100i now and am pretty happy.

PC stays cleaner on desk than on floor.

I never ever will have a PC on the floor or desk shelve.

I see brown fans and I think someone paid over the odds for two bits of injection moulded plastic and an electric motor. And still ended up with brown fans.

Barring incompetent designs all fans run on the same basic principles of rotation speed = noise = airflow and pressure.

The ONLY thing Noctua brings to the table is the colour brown.

I also have my PC on my desk and currently using a HAF 932, so visuals come into it for me.

And for sure, I do not want to have something the colour of a cow pat in my peripheral vision.

Really?

Shame OCUK don't sell them then.

There were NO Noctua CPU coolers shown in that video available with black fans, just some stand alone fans targeted "at industrial users".

I might be interested in that noise cancelling cooler shown at the end, mainly due to the fact it utilizes a shroud, which happily also conceals what's underneath it.
