Had a quick blast on Quake Live and although I'm still pants my ping has dropped from 60-80 (this as after finally persuading Sky to put me on fastpath), to around 30.

So far, so good then :)

Oh, Sumanji, the whole process took about a week and a half.
 
I forgot to ask dad to Turn interleaving off... when he setup the account :o

I've had to go into the panel on ADSL24's site to turn it off, its going to take 48hours though. Ballllls.. Poor ping whilst gaming FTL :(
 
Interesting. ADSL24's provider (Entanet) is supposedly having major issues with download speed atm (talks of them throttling) but it looks good on Flukes speedtest.

Keep doing tests at random times. ;)

Just got the old man to migrate tonight. Strange how they have their eBilling set up through Enta - is that the same for all of their resellers?

How long does it take for the "My Account" to be activated? Can't log in at the mo!

Also, just noticed their HQ and epic ub0r unimatrix hub is in Telford, which is about 15 miles away from here... I can has epic connection?! Hope we don't get placed on the Birmingham or Wolverhampton centrals, as that would be criminal :p

Telfords about 20 miles from me at a guess, maybe more Sumanji.

Epic Connection? Not too sure about that. It seems good though :p

i can't really say as my internet speed is limited by my connection to the exchange to around 1.7mb, but i've not had any issues with my connection.

main issue i have is that you can control interleave on your account via the console, but although i get emails saying the change has been done it still shows as auto :confused:
 
Hey,

Did anyone else request a block of 8 IP addresses when they signed up to ADSL24? I'm a bit confused about how to set them up...

  • 5 addresses listed in black
  • one in green with (network) next to it
  • one in blue with (router) next to it
  • one in red with (broadcast) next to it

So when I'm editing the connection settings of my router, which IP should I use as the "main" one?

I'm on BT option 3 atm and want to move to a cheaper monthly package (i know new router will be required)

of late they havent been doing too well, i'm not affected as my line speed is rubbish full stop, so i notice no real difference.

would be worth scanning for adsl24 and checking out some of the other options some of the others have moved too or maybe looking too move too.

what sort of options do you have on your exchange, what speed you getting at the mo.

tbh I get about 7100 sync. 7500+ sync but BT caps out my like at 5.1 and tbh I'm sick of BTs traffic shaping and the hubs random reboots.
