Basically I've ordered an ssd finally and want to clone everything on my HDD to the new SSD.

I know how to do it roughly but once its done, what do I have to do to optimize windows 7 for the new SSD. Do things like defragging automatically detect that I now use an ssd or do I have to change everything..
And if so, what things do I need to change?

what ssd did you get?

the Samsung evos comes with magician software which will optimise the os for the ssd for you depending on your needs.

not too sure what other ssds come with as only used the Samsung evos.

if the drive is big enough then there is not much you need to do to the ssd

with regards to cloning, again some ssds come with cloning software otherwise you can get some free cloning software as well, people like this 1 macrium reflect

forgot to mention if you have windows 7 another free bit of software is the backup and restore option.

do a image of the drive and restore it to the SSD

Got the crucial mx100 coming.. I think it comes with acronis so we shall have to see but I should be alright then if some softwares optimize... Thanks pal :)
