i think it might have something to do with this windows installer box thats popping up, but i dont know what its for and is sooo quick i cant see it in taskman

Have you tried resetting the winsock ?

Vista/7 run cmd in elevated mode (administrator) and run "netsh winsock reset"

Has this got Microsoft Security essentials on it?
Or mcaffee?

If so uninstall them...

MSE, did have norton when it came in with most of windows missing.

removed MSE and still the same, pretty sure windows is screwed or there is still a virus lurking.

Looks clean on the virus front. Sounds like Windows is just shafted. I think a reinstall would be the best bet at the moment.
