Noteworthy Cars for Sale [Appreciation Thread]

That Spyker is pretty awesome. Would repaint to another colour though.
There are very few cars that I have an irrational hatred for and the Spyker C8 is one of them. I remember first seeing it at the British motor show where it was first shown and I took an immediate dislike to it. I can't put my finger on why though.

A 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth just sold at Silverstone auctions for £596k  [plus buyers premium at 12.5% and plus VAT]

It's a car that will never lose money. A shame it will be stored rather than driven.
Yep. Unfortunately. Much like art, a lot of these unicorn cars are just instruments of the wealthy to send/receive money nowadays. No tax on the proceeds earned from such transactions.

I suspect it has already spent most of its life stored and not driven. Its sad. you see it all the time. Cars which are only 10 years old coming up for sale with delivery mileage only on them. They are only ever bought as an investment.

What cars can you buy and keep for ten years, then sell for a profit?

Also, this is an old ass, rare car which I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to rust away, so surely its best kept in a collection?

Manny Khoshbin has 9 McLaren Mercedes SLRs - so I guess he thinks that is a winner :D

I've been thinking about getting a BMW I8, it's out of production and doesn't look like a replacement is coming anytime soon. It didn't sell in huge numbers and I think $50k / 40k GBP is about the bottom of the depreciation curve.

However the Mustang 350gt's are also around $50k and I'd much rather have one of those and also think they would hold value well

Being from the US aren't there thousands of Mustang's available? Surely it would need to be a special edition to stand any chance of appreciating, at least for the foreseeable future? It'd be like expecting a 2010 Golf GTI to be worth a lot of money?
