This car has also had the all important subframe mounting modification carried out by Elms BMW main dealer in Stansted 1st March 2013

PDi Inspection BMW Holland Park Ltd.

Service 3 - 16236 Miles by Wollaston Motors BMW
Service 4 - 23844 Miles by Murketts Ltd BMW

Service 6 - 55067 Miles by Elms BMW
Service 7 - 63825 Miles by Munich Legends
Service 8 - 68560 Miles by Autoworks BMW specialists.

We have just had a full inspection of the car by Rybrook BMW in Shrewsbury who fitted new Diff Pinion oil seal.

Also fitted with a Tracker system.

This car could be best described as "a Wolf in Sheep`s clothing", extremely understated and definitely not to be mistaken for a standard BMW M3. Coupe Sport Leichtbau- translates to Coupe Sport Lightweight, this limited edition version was available in two colours: Silver Grey Metallic and Black Sapphire Metallic.

As its name suggests, an emphasis was put on reducing weight. The CSL has a curb weight of 1,385 kg, 110 kg lighter than the regular M3. Structural weight reduction measures include the use of glass-reinforced plastics in various structural points in the car, a roof constructed from carbon fibre, body panels constructed from carbon fibre, thinner glass for the rear window.

The suspension system was revised with stiffer springs, upgraded shock absorbers and a quicker ratio for the steering rack, the electronic stability control was retuned allowing higher thresholds before the system intervened.

The engine used in the CSL had increased output over the regular M3. This is due to the use of sharper profile camshafts, a bigger air intake with carbon fibre manifold. A 6-speed SMG II automated transmission was also fitted.

Its believed approximately 422 BMW M3 CSL`s were imported to the UK of which around 90 cars were finished in Sapphire Black, making it a much rarer colour.
