Nova love!

god how pedantic you are.

it looks crap, it IS crap, its STILL a Nova, it would handle like a barge, and its totally and utterly impractical.

ITS CRAPPPPP get over it.

If I had a fiat panda that could do an 11sec 1/4 mile it would STILL BE CRAP.

I'm normally the first to slate 200+bhp Novas that are used for the road. Stupidly overpowered, crap handling, rubbish car. I find them rather pointless.

BUT, this Nova is different. It was built to do one thing, storm up the quarter mile, on a budget by the looks of it. The engine is built from a £30 2.0 8v unit from a scrappy FFS.

And what the hell does handling and practicality have to do with a purpose built drag-****

Like I said, it's great.

And I agree with the others, an 11-sec Panda would be awesome :D

I also find myself siding with the majority here. I'm also pretty sure the owner doesn't give a flying fig that you find his car "deeply unimpressive" :)

Likeing that, not loads but liking it! Budget drag/track sleepers are on the up at the moment.

There was a standard looking purple corsa with halfords wheel trims running mid 12 second 1/4 mile at the weekend! Crazy fun little car!

BTW:
Errghhh Hi,
yes i am he the owner of the "isaac hunt"nova for all my sins. Thanks for the positive comments as it's so easy to label it as chav being a nova.
The car ran a [email protected] nearly two years ago at avon park and the whole thing stands me £3500.00 all in.
The cars been on the backburner for the last 18months as i sold the engine.I must point out i'm not your typical nova driver even though i have a nova 2dr saloon c/w moons, chain wheel and a channeled axle(-140mm) as a daily drive, and i don't know many nova lovers are going to the viva las vegas weekender next month like me.

I found this forum thanks to julian the guy with the poo-loo polo and he suggested i show my daily drive on here some time.Anyway the site looks good and theres a nice bunch of rides with not to much bitching on here which is cool by me.
Cheers
Ade.

More pics from the first round of the Old Skool Ford Drag Championship to come...

Zx-10R = 10.85@142mph
GSX-R1000 = 10.62@139mph
Fireblade = 10.85@137mph
R1 = [email protected]

Terminal speeds are bonkers

You got the 600 times? i believe its 11's at 125mph? with those speeds i dont know why more people dont get into bikes - even if its just for the strip

My gixxer thou cost me under £2k and does a 10 second 1/4 mile - cant be sniffed at tbh

Can't say I did, saw the MG SV dragster pump out a lot of thick black smoke though.

Haha ok, just someone I know decided it would be a good idea to run a 100bhp shot of *** in a 120bhp car :p

Resulting in the inlet smashing to pieces causing a few dents in the bonnet!

Heh dunno what that means, but he doesn't give a damn about the car. Its had about 6 gearboxes, 5 engines, 5 sets of driveshafts etc :p

It's got rims even you might like though!

Too big...Nice dish though - Borbet or Azev?

Basically, he's put the nitrous system so that it is injected into the plenum chamber.

This means that the plenum chamber is full of explosive stuff.

That means that, when the car backfires, the plenum chamber explodes.

Idiot tbh.

Yeah thats what he said happened, it backfired on gearchange and went boom. Where should he have put the foggers?

Wheels are Kerscher Carmona's, think they are borbet clones:

But yeah I agree, 16" is too large for saxo alloys, he's got some th mono's on order now.

edit: just read he's on engine number 7 and gearbox number 13. No wonder VTS engines are so pricey, he's had em all.

2005 R6 = 12.0 @ 123.8mph
2006 R6 = 11.7 @ 125.8mph
2006 ZX = 11.4 @ 127.1mph
2005 GSX = 11.5 @ 124.3mph

Those are from last month's Bike, the thous are the 2006 bikes from this month's copy. All the 2006 600s are in next month.

Not angular enough to be Borbet As (one of my all-time fave wheels):

Nice though...Would be nicer in 13" or 15" though...

...And fantastic in a 15x9 flavour.
