Nova love!

I want one of these :

Still dont understand why people think a heap of junk kitted out with a monster engine makes it not a heap of junk anymore, but hey, each to their own.

Im more impressed by Reyland tbh.

I guess on the positive side its different, and most of all im sure it would be immense fun on the strip.

different cars - different tastes

Reyland Cossie - all out, money no object ultimate performance tuner car like the big power skylines/supras from Japan. Unobtainable to everyone but the tuners.

Slaggy Nova - over the top performance and obtainable by nearly everyone who owns a car if they want to put the effort in and get there hands dirty.

I'd quite like a junkyard sleeper machine, or just a project I can do myself!

Penski what did you come down in? My Prelude was parked just down from the Ford stand, opposite the medical centre! Did you see the Volvo 240 on purple rims?

GT3 - thats actually a fairly nice Saxo, shame it had problems but what can you say with to much nitrous! Got a friend whos gone through 4 gearboxes on an untuned 55 plate Pug 206 though, some people just break cars!

Remember, when it came out in the early 80's, the Nova was one of the better Supermini's you could buy. Of course it's "crap" compared to a brand new Civic Type-R or whatever, but then so it bloody well should be! It has a nigh on 20 year design defecit for a start!

You got the 600 times? i believe its 11's at 125mph? with those speeds i dont know why more people dont get into bikes - even if its just for the strip

My gixxer thou cost me under £2k and does a 10 second 1/4 mile - cant be sniffed at tbh

Figures for the 2006 '600' bikes...

CBR600RR* = 11.21s @ 130.7mph
ZX-6R = 11.17s @ 133.7mph
GSX-R600 = 11.43s @ 133.0mph
Daytona 675 = 11.09 @132.3mph
YZF-R6 = 11.30s @ 132.8mph

so what is a sierra or an escort, fitted with a monster engine and a cosworth badge ? thats not a heap of junk?
whats the difference?
isnt that what reyland deal in? reyland just got a heap of junk rover 200 and is putting a audi tt engine in it, didnt he also buy a heap of junk metro and put a 1.8 vvc engne in it?

the performace of this nova is impressive its that simple, yes its ugly yes it probably wont go around corners. but put your car along side it on the 1/4mile and it will thrash you like it has been built to do.

2 true, possibly only to be beaten by an 11 second 2CV or Bedford Rascal :p

Think an 11second Robin Reliant would be even more impressive than either of those two ;)

Thought some bikes run under 10's 1/4 mile just. Sure the Suzuki Hayabusa and ZX12r have been under 10seconds just. I never really launch my Busa hard to be honest, but I know when i wind the throttle on I get the biggest grin ever in 1st and 2nd and 3rd and well all of the gears it doesn't stop accelerating its silly :D

Nova's are not that bad at handling, have a look at the demon tweaks stock hatch championship.

The problem is theres so many RULES out there.

Nova GSI seems a very competitive car.

I beleive a GSI nova is 2nd/3rd so far this years championship beating 205 gti's,106's etc.

infact nova's always seem pretty good in the hot hatch races. :)

(not as good as a xr2 obviously :p) :D
