NP: The now playing thread

It's a Slowdive cover of a Syd Barrett track that takes on a life of it's own. And they kinda predate Sigur Ros by five or six years. Not sure what you were expecting. I mean it is Slowdive. I think it's lush.

I don't know Slowdive at all. Apologies. Early Sigur Ros was ok. But the whiney ****e really gets on my ****.

Saw them a few years ago and got catastrophically wasted. I was not a pretty sight the morning after.

Yeah Slowdive are an early 90's band, were pretty iconic in the shoegaze scene, before Sigur Ros. The music has similar objectives, but done quite differently in my opinion.

Anyway, Slowdive disbanded in 1995 and have just reformed earlier this year. This is a classic song from their album Souvlaki. Absolutely timeless:

There's something about the emotion a violin portrays:cool: 'Beyond the veil' is another great track:)

Within Temptation- The whole world is watching power duet epicness:eek::cool:

version 1: with Dave Pirner

Version 2: with Piotr Rogucki

I think they're both great but prefer Dave Pirner's vocal:cool:
