NR200 Owner's Thread

That's how I assumed you'd get around it.

As a quick heads-up though, the Kraken is 275mm long, not 240mm. And isn't a standard ATX PSU 86mm deep rather than 80?

Will be interesting to see how it works in practice. Assuming the PSU is modular, there's maybe not a lot of space for the connectors.

Am I right in saying that if you have a GPU wider than two slots (mines 2.5) you're stuffed for using the base as intake? On the Tech Testers video it doesn't even look like you'll get slim fans down there

Worst case scenario, Scythe Slip Steam are only 12mm thick. I'll be amazed if they don't fit.

One option is to copy an Ncase favourite solution; deshroud your GPU (or fit a bare heatsink like the Accelero or Morpheus) to allow high CFM case fans to be used (instead of dedicated GPU fans).

Called mini DTX, a little more in height of an ITX:)
usually, DTX requires extra Motherboard standoffs.

Motherboard Support - Mini-ITX, Mini-DTX (Maximum size: 244 x 226mm)

Like the TU150 case from Lian Li

DTX isn't what PinkFloyd is referring to. DTX is quite solidly defined. Micro ATX, on the other hand, isn't. Micro boards go up to 244mm × 244mm. This case only has space for 226mm × 244mm (L×W).

When Kolink launched the Sattelite, they called it a Micro ATX case. But it has limited Micro board support. As a result, it's quite common for people to buy the case and the board, only to find out they aren't compatible. Cooler Master seem to have done the sensible thing here, leaving Micro ATX off the spec sheet and just providing dimensions instead. This isn't a Micro ATX case. But some Micro ATX boards will fit simply through virtue of supporting triple slot GPUs.

I phoned OC to sort out my account, and asked when there will be stock for the orders. Apparently I may get an answer today, so will post when I do

Apparently the cases arrived at Cooler Master's European warehouse this morning.

It must be Corsair having supply trouble due to the ongoing virus over there the US , Even if they are made in a factory elsewhere.
CM & the case should be soon if CM selling for £89 with riser adaptor,
I would guess they have a lot of Units to keep the price down

Corsair recalled something like nine months worth of SF-Series PSUs last month. That ate the first batch(es?) of stock out of China.

Word on r/SFFPC was that the next batch is due from China at the end of July.

Noctua NH-U12A the guy who helped CM , says its just fits with TG

At what point in the video? When talking about air coolers, I hear "the U12A just fits", but no specific reference to the glass panel. It does. But only with the vented panel. TechTesters confirmed that the clearances are different; the Hyper 212 fits with the vented panel, but not with the glass panel.

Yeah. Just thinking it's best to not go telling people the U12 fits when there's every chance it doesn't (unless using the mesh panel). It would suck for someone to spend £95 on a U12A only to find when the case arrives that the advice is incorrect.

Hopefully it fits. If it doesn't, with any luck the Fuma 2 or Mugen 5 will.

That's real nice set up like that.

Reckon I might pick up a 240mm AIO to go with this case. While the 280 support is nice, being able to swap layouts at will would be great.

Nice one I'm going to wait for that and pick up a used Wraith Prism while I wait

Knowing noctua it'll be a long wait though!

Thanks

I ordered a Jonsbo tower cooler as a stopgap myself. Should be here in a few days.

Figure by the time the U9S Chromax lands, I should know whether I'm keeping the Ncase, or swapping to the NR200, and if I'm using the NR200, what the best cooling configs and coolers are for the case.

I reckon AIO as intake will be the best config but I'm not interested in AIO so I want a decent air cooler with 4 X 120mm fans two intake at the bottom and two exhaust at the top

I think the U9S will be fine

Did you get the jonsbo from ocuk? Assume it fits the nr200?

Might have a look myself it's cheap enough

Thanks

Yeah, from OCUK. £17.99. Will post my thoughts up when it arrives. It's only got to beat a Wraith Stealth. And if it doesn't, at least it's RGB :D:p

Are you planning on getting the NH-U9S Chromax eventually as well then?

Maybe.

If I stick with the M1, then yes (unless the Jonsbo turns out to be adequate).

If I go with the NR200, I don't know. Arctic Cooling Freezer 33 eSports is only 153mm, and is a good ~£20 cheaper than the U9S (so probably £30 cheaper than the Chromax version). I doubt the U9S is much (if any) better than that (120mm vs 92mm cooler). And then there's the option of having a 240mm radiator and vertical GPU which is tempting. Probably won't make a decision on NR200 cooling until I've seen more builds.

Could be an RGB thing. RGB CPU coolers, RGB RAM, and even RGB GPU backplates are more common than RGB GPU fans. Using an AIO and vertical GPU set-up, you're potentially hiding the visually interesting parts of your system.

Slept on it, think I might go with the vented panel option, and get noctua fans and whatever the best CPU cooler you can fit inside. I care more about a cooler case than what it looks like. Probably get a black case instead as well lol.

You know you get both panels in the box, right?

Not if you're like me and wait for the NR200 (non-P). Cheaper, but does not come with Tempered Glass panel nor with GPU riser. However, it comes with 92mm + 120mm fan instead of 2x 120mm.
I just want the black case with the perforated side, dont need all the extras.

Tests so far show that is the best cooling performance anyway. Tempered glass is nice for looks though if you go for that instead.

Pretty sure the NR200 isn't coming to Europe. Only the NR200P.

Was told they will

OcUK - PREDATOR said:
From what CoolerMaster have been telling me, We should see stock in the first week of August.
Pre-Orders will start being shipped after the stock is booked in at OcUK.

That refers to the NR200P.

Cooler Master aren't releasing both SKUs in all countries. And as yet, only the NR200P is up for pre-order in the UK (and, AFAIK, the rest of Europe). Pretty sure one of the CM reps confirmed that the NR200 isn't coming to Europe, but I can't remember which forum it was written on now

Hype! There's 14 pages of comments so far.
Who's got a Tl;Dr for me?

A lot of people want this case.

Theres a little confusion over some of the exact clearances for things.

There's a little confusion over availability. When is stock arriving? Is the NR200 releasing over here, or just the NR200P?

There's some disappointment over the clearances for air coolers, given how close the case is to accommodating the absolute top performing air coolers.

But in overall, a lot of excitement. People have been waiting on a case like this for ages. A few cases have come close and just missed the mark slightly. But the general consensus seems to be that CM have absolutely nailed it; a great mass market SFF case which does the things people want in 2020 (unlike, say, Silverstone's SG13, which is excellent for what it is, but is showing its age).

No need to say thanks! We're happy to help and honestly listening to the feedback is super important. Also thankyou on the pre-order too!

I look after the channel side of things so its a little different for me hearing the more technical feedback but I can always pass it on and/or get tie right people listening plus i'm curious too.
I will have one (maybe both) case designers join the forums tomorrow for sure and then we can really dig into the technical questions.

Regarding your question, I've seen a Hyper 212 Black installed and you can actually see this too with a review from Techtesters on Youtube (Skip to 7:17: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Boh1uxgcp_8&t=1s) which should give you an idea of how it will look with this setup :)
Dimensions for Hyper 212 Black are: (L X W X H) 120 x 79.6 x 158.8 mm
But, lets keep that question for the designers to give more weight :)

Official clearances are 155mm for the vented panel and 153mm for the glass panel.

We know the Hyper 212 Black fits with the vented panel. We know from another video that Noctua's U12 coolers (157mm) don't fit with the glass panel. What we don't know is what the actual maximum clearance is with the glass panel fitted. Is there another 3-4mm of clearance above spec, per the vented panel? Or is it a firm 153mm? Or is it somewhere in between? This

Given there are very few 120mm fan tower coolers at 153mm or below, it would be handy to know the unofficial maximum. The selection of tower coolers at 155mm, for example, is far better than at 153mm.

Thanks for the update. Will have to wait until post-release for people to test individual cooler compatibility then, I guess.

Looking forward to more reviews. English language content for this case is really thin on the ground right now.

So first about the cooler height. Even though our clearance support is 155mm for the steel panel version as you can see in the reviews, a U12A/S does fit. That has to do with safety margins. So we cannot officially condone coolers larger than 155mm for the steel panel, but we won't certainly won't mind you pushing it to the limit :)

Is the safety margin for the TG panel roughly the same number of mm over the official number? Appreciate the need for a safety margin, but it would be useful to know whether it's worth ordering certain coolers to test, or a complete waste of time and money. I don't mind testing stuff that might fit. I'd rather not test ones that definitely won't.
