Sorry to repeat questions that have already been asked, but there’s many pages and I cannot find the answer!

What CPU cooler height have people got away with the TG panel? I am looking at a 157mm height cooler I like... but cooler master of course only recommend a 155mm

Thanks

with the tg panel is 153mm
some people got away using the fuma 2 (154.5mm).

with the mesh panel u can fit it for sure and also the u12a

Thank you for your response.

I was considering the Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo at 157mm in height. Are the sticking out pins for anything in particular? It wouldn’t take much to shave 3mm off with a dremel (photo below of the pins/studs below that could be shaved back)

I don't think you will need to do so since the u12a is 158mm and fits fine

Not with the TG panel.

Swap to the 33 and it'll fit fine. The 34 is 157mm. The 33 is 153mm.

I am really shocked off cooler master, they could have had made this case perfect by
1- increase the width to 20 cm
2- ability to use top mounted radiator

Adding 15mm to width and 30mm to height makes the case only about 10% smaller than the Metallic Gear Neo G Mini, and well outside of what would be considered small form factor.

Might be worth looking at the MG case if large air cooler support and optimal radiator orientation are important to you. Or the Lian Li TU150 or Inwin A1 for big air coolers.

Covered this previously, but it's a slippery slope on making things bigger. As McPhee said, they could make it a little bigger to do that, and then you could suddenly say "oh if we make it 15mm longer we could fit 2x 140mm fans top and bottom with a 280mm radiator" or similar. I'm glad CoolerMaster just stuck to a size and haven't done what Lian Li have gone and done with the PC-011 mini, originally that would take 280mm rads top and bottom - they're not stretching it so it can fit 360s top and bottom. So much for mini!

I'm not sure the O11 Mini was ever "Mini" TBH. When they first revealed it, they said it was 38L. There are a few things making the case big. Support for ATX and MATX boards and a side mounted rad mean the case has to be quite deep. ATX board support limits how short the case can be. And supporting large tower coolers and a rear 120mm fan limits how narrow it can be.

An O11 ITX could have been a lot smaller.

My order with the richest man in the world was cancelled today as they can't get stock of the NR200. Is the OC stock situation likely to remedy itself any time soon? Didn't really want the P version as I just won't use the tempered glass or the riser cable, but I'll take what I can get at this point

Yeh it was never going to be Mini in SFF terms, but compared to the original version! I hope they eventually do a true ITX version with tempered glass front and side, with 280mm rad support top and bottom!

@Bindlestiff - not sure OcUK have confirmed anything about getting stock in again, but I'd assume they are trying considering the demand for the case right now. Looks like they're difficult to get hold of whichever version you want, wherever you are located!

Isn't the height issue of top mounted rads mostly just due to the PSU bracket getting in the way? They could've been a lot smarter about how they placed that, or offered lower moutnting options, I guess.

If they mounted the PSU lower it would potentially interfere with the GPU (in horizontal orientation) length allowed. From what I've seen this is the issue people trying to put ATX PSUs in this case are running into. Basically the length of the ATX is the issue and only the shortest ATX PSU's can fit but they are usually right up against the GPU or people running shorter GPUs.

I would agree that a simple 3-5mm wider wouldn't have been the end of the world but if that changed the volume to be >20L then most people wouldn't consider this a SFF case anymore.

but guys let's be honest
After gamers nexus video, most of us want to mount the radiator at the top which is not possible, you can do what Darren_uk did by flipping the case
also cpu cooler clearance with tempered glass is 153mm which will not give us a lot of good options
