Nvidia 3d vision .. Worth it ??

Woot...that's was rather rude...what wrong with you lately Greg? You are going full throttle bigging up AMD issues, and now you are bashing down any potential short-coming/negative on Nvidia...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if without AA, using 3D vision would still cut the frame rate by half no?
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_780_Ti/18.html
So the 780Ti get average frame rate of 78fps at 1920 res with no AA in Metro LL...with 3D vision enabled, the average frame rate would be 39fps...and minimum frame rate would be like what...around 25fps?

Your opinion of running "sweet" is rather subjective don't you think? Personally I'd rather play without 3D but with twice the frame rate.

Ease up Tiger, I was just saying how it is based on my findings. I can run any game with FRAPS and report my findings if you like?

Just sold 2 x Radeon 7970 Ghz gpus and bought the Nvidia 780Ti, seen that the 3d vision is £110 and i know it will work with my Asus VG278HE monitor

Just wondered if its worth the invest of the 3d vision kit

YES!!!

I used on games that do support it since 2011, and was the main reason I flogged my 2 7950s, which lasted only two months, and got the GTX780.

BF BC2 was the first game ever to play, on the GTX570s and was stunning to say the least.

Not many games support it, but the ones who do, they are stunning.
Play Batman with PhysX & 3D. And I bet you will stay there looking the environment.

Shame Skyrim doesn't have that good support, however going to give it a try again, now I have the grunts and have installed around a huge series of GFX mods, that couldn't before,

Also try to play Trackmania on 3D. :D

Just ran a bench on Metro LL and this is what I got

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
12096, 246934, 29, 78, 48.985

It felt great to me and nice and smooth. The 780Ti is faster than a Titan and my clocks were 1176/3465

This has inspired me to do some benching in 3D :) I will post my finding later.

Not sure what it's like now, but back when Skyrim/Dead Space 2 were just out, it didn't really have too much of a knock-on effect. 10FPS at most.

Although, VRAM is a different matter. 100-200MB differenec in some cases. Maybe you should incorporate that into your benching bud.

I think we need a 3dvision thread! Things like the helixmod posted earlier I had no idea they existed, could do with all the tips and tricks so to speak put in one place!

Go for it Paul. Not sure how popular 3D is but seems there is a few of us who enjoy it :)

i had a 3 screen setup with 2 cards , just had loads of issues with lots of games in the end so i sold them to get the Asus 27 inch, and no regrets so far

Although it could have been the AMD cards that had the issue lol
