NVIDIA 4000 Series

I think I'm just genuinely gamed out. I think I know how Kaapstad feels now too when he decided to call it quits with the PC hobby, And he was the guy around here for absurd overkill rigs. But for me it's gaming overall, Just got no drive anymore.

Same here, I try and play occasionally but that lasts maybe 15-20 mins then i just quit out. Nothing out there currently that interests me, and nothing in the foreseeable future either. It's just feels like 'seen it done it', last game i was looking forward to was 2042...and we all know how that turned out. Its better now which is to be expected after 3 years of band aids but first impressions are everything.

And the upgrading rat race is also old hat, prices up the wazoo all over the place. After 28 years at this pc lark it's just got stale and uninteresting.

I’m feeling that way as well. I’ve given up on the idea of building a new pc for now. I’m still running a GeForce 980 I bought in 2014!

I’ll wait until the 5080/90 comes out and will see what that offers. The only thing I really want a new pc is to try out some of the VR titles. Feels too late in the lifecycle of the 4000 series to be spending big money on a GPU

I mainly just play once or twice a week on my ps5/switch. Might upgrade to a PS5 pro if that releases later in the year.

Half the problem is the console stuff is still relatively cheap. Maybe £500 for a new ps5 pro or £400 for a switch 2 when that comes out next year. Whereas with pc you’re £1000 for just the video card! Easy to spend £2000-3000 by the time you factor in the rest of the rig and a monitor.

Hard the justify the expense (and rapid depreciation) of a new gaming PC unless you’re using it daily IMO.

50 series to be more closer to 40 series than earlier leaks suggested, the difference really being use of GDDR7: Seems as though VRAM capacity will really be the big difference here with those 3GB modules.

Am really hoping the 50 series will be a really crap increase over the 40 series just like an intel cpu refresh

That way I feel much better about my crazy high 4090 outlay

I opened the box this evening and found this inside of it :mad::mad::mad::mad:
I now have the worrying time of trying to sort this crap out

The other problem i also have now is do i order another one from somewhere else or do i wait to see if they will replace it or refund me first

It a pain as i have a load of other PC hardware on it way to me to build my new system

Clearly a higher class of fraudster though, using Waitrose products rather than Aldi or similar.

Happened me years ago with a 980ti strix and it was a geforce 280 or something in the box. They replaced it with no issues. Though as it was bought as new they clearly sent out something that had been a return, so imo amazon are better left avoided when it comes to pc hardware.

ed: was actually a bfg 275.
