NVIDIA 4000 Series

Everyone from small firms with one to two people all the way to large corps/industry and public bodies and defence. Depending on what they need COTS can work, but a great deal of time you are looking at complete bespoke designs, from the chassis upwards with custom PCB's etc. I've worked with movie studios, game developers, oceanographics, automotive, aerospace and lots more.

Some of these companies work with grants/fixed budgets, and it isn't always for profit, you get universities as an example who will give grants to departments that want a certain spec but have limited funds to do that with, and you also get the start-ups who simply can't afford everything straight away. It's a very diverse market place out there, and most people sadly don't have the first clue just how simple it isn't.

Any who, back on topic. 4xxx, lets see what they are peddling in a couple of hours and how much peoples 3xxx cards are going to fall in value by. :D

If anyone sells their 3000 series card before knowing the available stock of the 4000 series they are mad and deserve to get burned. Funny during the 3000 announcement that peeps on here panic sold 2080ti cards. Only for them to hold value within the first month of the 3080 release.

I'm still happy I sold my 2070 Super for £460 lol, a tenner less than what I bought it for at launch.

I then managed to get the retail value back again from the courier as they left it outside in the pouring rain and it got soaked when the buyer was out. So we split the compensation :D

Any reliable rumours about pricing?
no its all opinion based, basically Nivida will run numerous pricing models on the data they have combined with forecasts on production, competition and market conditions to maximise their profit for any period.

This modelling will be going on all the time and then the exec's will meet to decide how pricing supports their strategy and with new launches that will happen at the last minute they may even choose not to say anything on price.

Then they will run with it for a few weeks/months and see if they need to adjust such price or launch new SKUs at different price/perf:
- better for consumers in the case of Turing with the 2070S
- worse for consumers in the case of Ampere with 3080 12GB & 3080Ti

TBF that was mostly because of the **** poor stock/high demand because of mining etc. Had there been good stock or/and less demand, second hand gpus including 2080tis would have all gone for considerably less. I was able to sell my vega 56 on for £220 and 290 for £90

But yes, silly to sell and buy before any real news/reviews comes out. I'm happy to take a loss on the 3080 if it means securing a 40xx/rdna 3 first.

I plan on keeping an entire PC as a backup going forward. At the very least, I want to make sure my wife's gaming PC is strong enough for me to use in a pinch.

I’m 100% ready to upgraded to 4000 series of the price is right but I suspect it will be back to telegram groups and smashing the purchase button on FE stock From the ocuk rival. I won’t be selling until a new card is in my hands.

Do they quote the UK figures at these things or is it USD and the GBP/EUR is not seen until they go on the websites? I note that at least in apple land an $1100 iPhone translates to £1200 here, presumably a similar thing to happen.

Yes America thinks it is the whole world as usual, more news at TEN.

This year Apple's UK pricing (pre-VAT) was cheaper than the US (pre sales tax) which was surprising. It usually is about 5-10% more expensive.

Traditionally FE cards have been priced quite reasonably given the exchange rates in the UK.

This used to work. But with demand and supply issues these days as you say it would be silly to sell. In the past I used to sell a month or so before release to maximise returns and it would work like a charm. Would get to have a graphics card for £50-£100 across the lifetime of the gpu :D

Same here, until last year I had to wait for ~3 months without a GPU until I could get my hands on a FE.

@CAT-THE-FIFTH @Kaapstad you guys ready to start the threads for the 4090 and whatever they feel they want to give us today.

Link to the event for all that still can't find it.

I know we are 29 minutes away from this being announced but I'm surprised people haven't been forming speculations based on the desktop screen. Come on guys.

What are the three icons in the top right of the primary screen? The triangle one seems new.
They have some release date on the geoforce experience screen. Whats that about?
What are the folders about?
The card is probably in the corner by the light has anyone tried brightening the image yet?
