NVIDIA 4000 Series

Are people really chomping at the bit to spend £2000+ on a Graphics Card?

Nvidia are geniuses, I don't blame them if they charge £3000 for their next cards because £300 or £3000 there's no difference lol

To think we are suppose to be in a recession too, Kudos to Nvidia!

Don't worry most will end up returned, ebayed or stuck on the members market with the typical line "I realised I don't need such a card and want to downgrade or it was an impulse buy" etc etc etc ... I bet you in first week this will happen if not sooner, it's that FOMO and once in your hands and tested and not seeing a massive difference that will make many regret purchasing them. Reality is most people after one from what I see are on 3090,3090ti, 3080ti and 6950xt, 6900xt and cards that don't need updating unless you do VR or have a 4k monitor that can do 120FPS+ and a cpu that can deal with such a card.

Yeah that seems to be the general consensus when I was reading them last night. There isnt a CPU fast enough to keep up with the 4090 at 4k. How times have changed.
Is that strictly true though? Difference with older gen CPUs but the testing results for 4090 at 4k res showed only small diferences of around 1-3 fps or 1-2% generally in most titles between say 7600 and 7950. Could be game engines not fully utilising all the CPU cores I guess.

Someone commented the other day they were going to run it with a 7700k!

Never seen so many GPU's listed on first page of MM for a while.

Nope, I saw the same thing - It was the Asus ROG OC.
I got it in my cart as well but couldn't justify £2400 on a card so I didn't go through with it.
Was tempting though.

Surprised no one has added a review as a wind up

I don't game as much as I used to and even with a bump in resolution to 1440p a little while ago the games I do play run fine on my 1070 so unless it blows up *touches wood* I won't be rushing to splurge any money on a new one.

Nope, I have PCIe 4.0 and I game at 4k 120 Hz so I won't be CPU-limited.
Yup you're right the cpu is pcie 4.0 and I got confused as B560 chipset is pcie 3.0 on the motherboard but the gpu will be using 1st slot to cpu at 4.0.

Make sure you are on latest BIOS for that motherboard when you install the 4090 in case it doesn't get recognised correctly on POST.
