NVIDIA 4000 Series

Nvidia launched the 4080 12gb as a 4080 as they feared the reaction if they had to admit the real 4080 (16gb) is $500 more than the 3080.
But as many people seem happy to pay $2500+ for a 4090, they clearly know people will pay so much more for the 4080 than the 3080.

top end 3000 series both new and 2nd hand MUCH better value.

3090ti beats 4080 12gb massively on memory bandwidth (2x) and same performance on compute. 4080 12gb is literally worse than a 3090ti and I'd give a 3090 a chance being almost 2x on memory bandwidth but only 12% less on compute. Shame we will never see, would've been hugely embarrassing for Nvidia to have actually released that.

At this point nvidia could release a £3k card thats 5% faster than the 4090 and the muppets would be lining up to get reamed.

What's this about priority links and how to get one?

I'm desperate for a 4090FE for a 3D modelling rig, would love to know how to get one ASAP. I failed at 2pm launch day unfortunately,

Theres probably still channels on discord alerting people to restocks, might be worth looking there.

Bear in mind any response you get will be subjective. I'm in my thirties, I've used/been very near around a dozen 3080 ,3090, all of which had coilwhine to my ears.

My 3090FE was the worst, absolute screamer. My Strix 4090, is thankfully much reduced, but still has some coilwhine.

I've had family/friends say they have no coilwhine, only to hear it myself straight away. Age and difference in sound perception make a huge difference here!

I think that'll be just fine for a few weeks while you wait for cable mods cables and or a right angle connector, as long as you're not opening/closing the case too often (I know it' nice to sniff new GPU's :D)

I couldn't be hassled with having to sell it, or being labelled a scalper. Whilst both would fit in my case the ichill is lighter and smaller.

Haha only so much they can get away with proper scummy

For someone that bought the 3080 and has no interest in 90 series literally gave no options worth considering

Got my invite just after 5pm, card should be with me tomorrow, i obviously felt it would be rude not to....
