If there's no FE drop today, I'm gonna wait it out until 7900 XTX benchmarks are out. There has to be an FE drop today...surely...it's been a week since the last one...come on Nvidia!

I got the idea that AMD wanted to split their lines between gamer and professional, which makes sense really. It's a 4080 16GB competitor, expect a 7950 class card at some point I guess. Nvidia is still the best for productivity workloads though. AMD cards still fall to the bottom of the graphs when factoring in application use for GPU acceleration. Since AMD made no mention of productivity, I suspect there is no change in this part of GPU usage, so for many of us that do gaming /and/ productivity, Nvidia is the only option.
We're usually after EU drops no? Haven't seen any todayIf there's no FE drop today, I'm gonna wait it out until 7900 XTX benchmarks are out.
Loses out on a fair customer range though, those that work and play on same machine.I got the idea that AMD wanted to split their lines between gamer and professional, which makes sense really.

but how will they know .. do they ask for ids or is the purchase linked to your email account?I actually contacted Nvidia yesterday on their online chat and specifically asked them this - even if the card is brand new and unopened and un registered they said the warranty could not be transferred - I am not too sure how legal that is but the bottom line is do not buy from someone scalping as there effectively is no warranty then.
looks like its a onboard connector issue, possibly nvidia is using a different supplier for the FE onboard connector. seems nvidia only provides the adapter while AIBs are free to source connectors however they wantMore meltdowns...

For someone who "doesn't care" you did just spend a lot posts aggressively harassing someone who should have just immediately told you to stfu. The amount of pent up frustration you have must be immense, because when you go off on one. you really go off on one.I don't know and really don't care .. he came off to me like he's advertising it to the OCUK forums and look I have one on ebay and gumtree for less than the other scalpers if you want one. Not my forums and the Mods will decide in the morning once they see this mess what to do.
Not for the FE card, but often on eBay listings you will see them advertised as "comes with receipt". If you have the original purchase invoice, I don't think there's anything to stop you from using the warranty in the original buyers name and say you moved house.can’t see the next batch of FE’s getting scalped which is good news. There are so many just sat unsold on eBay.
Do you even get a warranty if you buy from eBay?
Not unless they ask for proof of identity (show original buyer name at the new address)...Not for the FE card, but often on eBay listings you will see them advertised as "comes with receipt". Say you don't have a passport or drivers license. It would be easy to change the name on a utility bill, print it off and take a picture. Not unless they ask for proof of identity (show original buyer name at the new address)...
If it was a store receipt with no name on it then may be it could work.
This is exactly what happened. To be fair his story adds up, he was waiting for a water block and changed his mind when he saw how much better value the 7900 XTX is.
Lots of gamers mined while they weren't gaming to recover some of the cost.Crypto miners buying up cards intended for gamers is
That's called Fraud and has serious implications if caught. I hate Scalpers with a passion, pond life in my eyes but the "only" 4090 that fits my rig is the FE which I have a 3090FE in at present. I saw a 4090FE go on a certain online marketplace bought in that last evening drop. AIB cards had become readily available in stock so I bluntly pointed out they would get stuck with it if they didn't bale quick and I had the money if I could collect right away. They folded and I paid £200 over, but I will get the whole cards cost back in a single work render so whatever. As soon as that evening drop happened it forced my hand as I can't keep playing silly buggers watching Telegram 24/7. Hopefully this is it now as if selling on "the Bay" you are looking at £170 selling fees minimum at RRP so anything less than £1870 and its not even break even as the fulfilment company charges delivery.Say you don't have a passport or drivers license. It would be easy to change the name on a utility bill, print it off and take a picture.
Unhelpful? Do we have to do everything for you now. Expect plenty to be available on the 3080 launch for those who "miss out". Same tactic as last time when I went for a 3080 and when they went within seconds of the Telegram alert, I bought the 3090.It does seem the FE drops are a bit thin on the ground at the moment - I wonder if they are being held back whilst Nvidia investigate the possible burning plug issue? It is galling to see so many on eBay though.
Do tell? Would I be going to prison for lying about being the original buyer? That's called Fraud and has serious implications if caught.
If caught, potentially. Fraud Act 2006 - Fraud by false representation is a crime punishable by a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and an unlimited fine.Do tell? Would I be going to prison for lying about being the original buyer?
