NVIDIA 4000 Series

Yeah I think this should be called out more. That price is outrageous.

Short term profits at the expense of long term loyalty.

You assume were making a fortune, I shall be bluntly honest we are making 12% at £2249.99 Inc, our exc VAT cost is just shy of £1700, we paid about £150 exc over the odds for this stock because there is simply hardly any Asus stock anywhere so what there is there is quite a premium on it.

Why do I buy it and pay overs for it, simply because we have demand for them, already 15 have sold in 24 hours.

The problem is lack of supply, if I could buy readily from any distributor my true cost would allow me to sell at around £1999-2049 with 10% margin. The fact is £1799 is impossible based on Asus current cost, we would lose money at those prices as we pay more than that for official stock via an official Asus distributor.

People should have learnt by now the MSRP's are funded especially bigger brands like Asus, MSI etc. Seeing an Asus at £1699 again requires budget from Asus to make it happen. I'd have thought after the past three years people would have learned by now what a total farce the MSRPs are.

Some of the less known brands should in theory get close to £1699 in coming weeks/months if the pound remains at 1.15 or higher but right now I buy what I can get because stock is so slim on the ground and sales are strong. All the MSI Suprim's sold in a matter of days, demand is still very strong.

Just less known brands like Palit which stick around and Zotac are doing a great job at keeping product in stock as they are shipping the largest volumes and the improves pound has brung their prices down but in fairness to Zotac they have not increased cost on the Trinity OC and AMP, only the none OC card increased slightly in USD cost.

Why don't you blame OCUK for this? What is the difference to someone selling on eBay for hugely inflated prices - they are both taking the ****.

100% and most of the competitors aren't gouging their customers by so much.

After my Gigabyte was +200 (that I refunded) and this Tuf is plus £350 than competitors I won't be shopping here again.

I do appreciate them for forum however, but they have changed direction from the company they once were.

Well its now been over a week since the last drop - seems odd as there is supposed to be no supply issues - unless there is movement behind the scenes in relation to the burning issue.

Yeah I've got alerts ready but does seem strange. If Germany and other countries get drops throughout the day we will probably get one tonight. Fingers crossed.

How are competitors able to charge £350 less? (As of last night). I can't see OCUK having that little buying power.

First of all I am not seeing TUF OC in stock anywhere else. If somewhere really has it in stock at £350 less, simply buy it, that is a great price, it is below my cost on this batch of stock.

I already said above this stock has come into us at a much higher cost, were making 12% based on our higher cost on a product in massive shortage. When this stock is sold out and if we get good supply of stock from an official supplier our price will drop.

It was last night, for stock landing next week. Just gives a bad impression to be buying it and selling it that high. Of course the company's choice to do it and the customers choice to buy it, but it does erode goodwill somewhat.

So no stock, can you actually order it? If you can trust me buy it!
Even based on official cost and lets just say for keep sake the pound hits 1.16 next week at £350 less that is still essentially making no margin, so once again get it ordered if you cannot order it then it explains everything just advertising a fake a price, if you can order it do so as they won't be making any money.

We've had more Zotac land today, booked at a rate of 1.155, prices have been updated online and are now from £1799.

Simple fact is our cost dictates our sell price, we pay more, you pay more, we pay less you pay less. :)

We are £100 cheaper than competitors on that Zotac card, so are they now scalpers too? Not at all, people fail to grasp that in times of shortage sometimes you pay way over odds to get stock.
Also this is a $2000 product near as dammit so for like every point move in pound strength it effect the landed cost by £30. So if the pound hits 1.12 tomorrow and stock lands it basically cost £100 more than today.

Our Zotac stock landed today, our system has booked at a very strong pound and as such all the Zotac cost have come down to as low as £1799, upto around £100 cheaper than competitors, they are not scalping that is just impact of currency rate.

You could last night, think they sold out. I can still get the Strix for 150 less than the Tuff here.

The Zotac price you mentioned is good though and that is encouraging it isn't across the board.

Hopefully prices and demand normalises soon. :)

Currency!

Not all stock lands at the same time, currency is live and volatile if stock lands tomorrow and the rate is 1.20 cards would drop another £100 or so, but likewise if the rate goes back to around 1.10 the prices will go up another £100 or so.

So it cannot be across the board as these products are arriving all the time on a live rate as these items are purchased and paid for in USD and the whole world knows what has happened to the pound in the last month, how many PM's have we had recently, I am losing count.......

Only need to look how cheap we are on new Intel 13th gen CPU's as we've had a lot of deliveries this week on them, bringing their prices even lower.

It doesn't get much more transparent than that, thanks Gibbo as I know you don't 'have to' provide that info although it should go a long way towards reasonably re-assure people that OCUK aren't being too cynical with the pricing.

Thank you, I try.
I am hopeful pound recovery continues past 1.20 because not only will people see many AIB cards at MSRP, some will actually drop below it, on such an expensive product the currency has a huge impact. To the point were also at huge risk of losing money if by the time we pay for the goods the currency has slipped again, so we absolutely will not do crazy low margin (sub 5%) on such products and a 2-3 currency shift would result in us losing money. Then factor in returns cost and all the other eventualities we simply cannot afford to be charity, I'd love to throw free 4090's to everyone, but as a business well we'd not survive long.

Honestly, I'm getting so fed up of not being able to close my side panel lol. I've said it already, but I do think if I can grab a FE I'll sell the AMP. It's been a perfect card, really good, but constantly battling my two rat cats getting close to the PC is getting tiresome.
