NVIDIA 4000 Series

People are not even willing to pay msrp now £1699 for a brand new sealed 4090 FE. Seeing the same now at a lot of places the scalpers or people that changed their mind now trying to sell them off for what they paid or less.

^... not selling....

Prices are absurd and the issues these cards have is putting a lot of people off now and best thing to do right now is sit and wait for nvidia's statement on the melting issue and wait for them to reduce the prices as there is no need for a card that once cost £1400 to be £300 more now and with neutered features compared to the previous one. Like I said ...

Makes no sense, why not just return for full refund? Less hassle than selling especially if buyer complains & wants refund.

Exactly or it may cause an issue later down the line and then the seller has to rma it at his cost again.. They need just sending back and not selling on to save the hassle involved with these cards.

Say in a few days Nvidia recalls them and only way that will have to happen is threw the original buyer too. Not worth the risk on a £1700 card in my book.

Agreed. And I found out recently that nvidia warranty is only for the original buyer. The new buyer isn't covered.

All you chaps who already own a 4090 - have you bought a new power cable or mitigate the bend and if so - which ones have you gone for (or are there any out yet?)
I have so much room in my case it's not really an issue (Fractal Torrent) but I am waiting for my CableMod cable to arrive so I can ditch the adapter as it just looks terrible :p

NVIDIA RTX 4080 Founders Edition PCB is quite empty

Some new photos of the upcoming RTX 4080 graphics card have been posted by known leaker @KittyYYuko.

This is the first time we get to see the RTX 4080 Founders Edition board design up close and the first time a photograph of the AD103 Ada Lovelace GPU has been posted online.

In an effort to hide some details from NVIDIA, Kitty is using an EK logo sticker and Intel CPU to cover some parts of the board and GPU. Unfortunately, this also means we can’t see how many VRMs are actually installed on this card. It does not appear that even half of the GPU VRMs are present, though. The thing that has not changed is the 16-pin power connector, to be used by all future RTX 40 GPUs.

The RTX 4080 is equipped with 9728 CUDA cores and 16 GB of GDDR6X memory. We can see that this PCB has 8 modules installed around the GPU, each holding 2GB of capacity. This memory is attached to a 256-bit memory bus, which is a downgrade from RTX 4090’s 384-bit bus.

It is worth noting that the leaker confirmed that the card scores 14100 points in Time Spy Extreme, so just about the same as the RTX 4080 from other leaker.

One might guess that the reason the board is so empty is that NVIDIA will be using this board for a future AD103 upgrade, possibly an RTX 4080 Ti variant. However, NVIDIA has not acknowledged any RTX 40 Ti variant yet.

NVIDIA RTX 4080 non-Ti launches on November 16th. This Founders Edition GPU should cost $1199 through official NVIDIA channels.

Nvidia is really having a laugh with these...

i've not bought a cable and i don't think i'm going to. i checked my adapter for signs of metling a few days ago, no signs. i'm just gonna leave the pc side case off so the cable isn't bent much.

I have ordered a cablemod cable at the end of last month but I doubt that's going to turn up until the end of this month, but so far the 4x 8 pin nvidia adapter is holding up ok for now that came with my Zotac. PC has been running 24/7 since I had the card last Monday, so about 192hrs of power on time with no sleep, and out of those hours maybe 25 to 30hrs gaming and so far so good.

The moment I opened the adapter I put a cable tie around the cable near the plug and manually bent the rest of the cable as far away as I could from the connector but still allowing me to close my Evolv X case panel.
