Nvidia 5000 series rumoured release is 2025

I wish people in the tech media actually thought a bit about what they wrote for a second, especially after Zen2. The Zen2/Zen3/Zen4 chiplets are tiny.

The whole point of "chiplets" is to use a smaller chip, like 3DFX did, many times. Even the Navi 31 GCD is "midrange" in size at around 300MM2.

So what could be happening with the RX8000 series,is AMD is using dual GCDs for the higher end models.

RTX 5000 series will be based on Blackwell architecture with GB202, GB203, GB205, GB206 and GB207 SKUs but there will be no GB204 part so AD104 will be the last chip. GB205 will be the brand new SKU to replace it with much cheaper design probably with 128 bit memory interface compared to AD104 RTX 4070 with 192 bit memory interface.

I guess it will be a farewell to X04 series SKU, looked back at all X04 chips since 2012:

Kepler GK104 GTX 660, 660 Ti, 670, 670MX, 675MX, 680, 690, 760, 760 Ti, 770, 780, 780M, 860M, 870M, 880M
Maxwell GM204 GTX 960, 965M, 970, 970M, 980, 980M
Pascal GP104 GTX 1060, 1060M 1070, 1070M, 1070M Max-Q, 1080, 1080M, 1080M Max-Q
Turing TU104 RTX 2060, 2070, 2070 SUPER, 2070M, 2070M Max-Q, 2070M SUPER, 2070M SUPER Max-Q, 2080, 2080 SUPER, 2080M, 2080M Max-Q, 2080M SUPER, 2080M SUPER Max-Q

Will be a big price hike if AMD are pulling out of the high end market
I do not care what price the top end is as long as the 60 and 70 cards are not over price but given how prices have gone not holding my breath on that!
The lower end cards are getting more expensive and more cut down than the top end every generation :(

More money less performance possibly? Very nice refinement if AMD pull their high end.

Nvidia have set up the next generation perfectly. The RTX4060TI 8GB and RTX4070TI 12GB are prime examples. Just release the RTX5060TI and RTX5070TI with more VRAM,and suddenly you have a free performance improvement! Then make sure a few sponsored games just push over 12GB and there you go!

And DLSS4 ...
Yeah there's so many things it could potentially be... Even more fake frames, neural texture compression, some kind of DLRT where it fakes/enhances the number of rays being cast...

But really I hope it's something ridiculously ambitious and obviously prone to weird artifacts like trying to predict what a game should look like with higher settings than it's actually running at in general.
