NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Same here, I might consider the Gigabyte Master too, but that optional fan just looks wack imo lol, probably gonna go for Suprim as it won't have the Asus tax but also is a solid card
I saw the Aorus Master cooling marketing could indeed be up there with the others, but are we going to get breakdowns before launch?

I'm wondering if the 5080 was originally intended to be 24GB, especially with the 5090 moving up to 32GB, but the 3GB modules weren't available in sufficient quantity and/or would have pushed the price up too much.
There were a few rumours suggesting that supply of the 3GB modules was limited, so it wouldn't surprise me tbh. That plus gimping it so a Ti/Super variant can come out this time next year for £1199.

Would have made the most sense and prob have been really popular. (I would have gone for this)
Knowing that the consumer asks for more vram, why do they choose to cripple them.
It's just a way to get people to actually double their money for the 5090 or fall into the trap of settling for A.I.
This is prob why they now start locking part of the features behind pay walls. (I.e. every series adds software only available to the next card, to make you feel like you are missing out)
I'm sure the 3090 and 4090 could handle the new DLSS and A.I. stuff, but they choose to design it in a way to gouge the customer.

All companies are doing it, just hurts that you now can spend £2k on a card that then a few years later cant play the new games at a decent level.

Once they get lots of people using ai features they’ll probably make it a subscription service lol

I was going to say the exact same thing, except not joking!

They'd drop the price of the 6090 to something like £1300, with DLSS5 being £12.99 a month.

To be honest, with the way the Internet speed is increasing and A.I. advancing. They could operate server based and everything become subscription.
If we divided up the cost of our hardware over the months we have it, they could prob charge a tiered system where the top sub is £50 a month and we would still save money.
Maybe this is the long game!?

It's a shame the way things are going now. You used to be able to build a top of the range PC and it last 10 years. Now it's 2-3.

It makes consoles more worth it. Take a £500 console is the £3k difference worth the performance boost

For gaming only, it's a deffo food for thought.
Also PC Games when first released have crept up over the years.
However, if you like to play many games, Steam Sales etc compared to the £50 Console games, does drag some of that cost back.
Plus the PC offers a lot more than gaming and is an enthusiasts hobby.

I do think they are starting to take the mick with what they charge now and yet another company to add 'A.I.' to the end in order to sell more.
The leap in hardware is a lot less, yet they have worked on software to hoodwink us into thinking we are getting so much more.

But.......we will still continue to be gouged as we all enjoy chasing the tech and get warm and fuzzy with a few more points on PCMark.
It does feel like they are pulling the wool more this time around though.

Fair. I have final Fantasy Rebirth pre ordered and KCD2. Plaything both day 1. All the while still not completed STALKER 2 or Silent Hill 2

Can't actually think of any more games coming this year I will play day 1.

Edit: Also have Virtua Fighter 5 REVO on pre order

On another note, I see spiderman 2 is coming out end of the month. Will give it a miss for now. Maybe in the summer as need to play all the games I already have first. Definitely buying it at some point though.
