NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

LOL my 4090 is worth more now than it was any time over the last few weeks if I wanted to sell it, which I don't
Yeah, it crossed my mind few times to sell but there's literally nothing out currently that I want. I thought I could play with new AMD hardware (I like to change camps and then to downgrade now and then) for a while but it's not out and won't be for 2 months or so, hence I'll keep what I have.

They go through another party , can't name due to being competitor that's who you need to register with or complete check out as guest

Nvidia drop on site will link it to them

The other site say this time the FE is only available through Nvidia’s own website, they just perform the fulfilment for them.

That’s a change from the last couple of releases.

its based on my experience when i bought the 3090 and 4090, was in stock all afternoon, by 7pm they were gone, so it should be the same, I mean cant be that hard, unless ur relying on 1 retailer, im gonna try on 11 major sites, either it happens or not, but one day i will get a 5090, one day, might be tomorrow might be July 2026
Im guessing you were on a different planet, as my 30 & 40 series experiences were completely different.. although i did manage to get both on day of release both sold out very quickly.

I wasn't expecting much from the 5080 and that seems to be exactly what we got.
While it's not awful it is disappointing. I think what concerns me the most is the gap this leaves to be filled with a TI or SUPER (or both) variant that is much more like we would've wanted.
But how long do we have to wait for that (if it's coming) and how much would that cost?

I agree, the void left between 5080 and 5090 is huge (not counting 4090). Nvidia will most likely releasing a 5080ti (cut down GB202) proportional to the price increase. Of course nvidia can charge what every they want as nothing can touch them.

What will annoy 5080 owners will be if they did what they did with 4080->4080Super, release a $200 cheaper card that is slightly faster within a year (?).

For me personally, I buy when I need/want an upgrade, not when nvidia decides to dictate (inflate) GPU market by releasing a mediocre release. If the market price is that, me as a little gamer boy can not do much about it. /bends over prepping lube

Nvidia playing it's customers like a fiddle. People will huff and puff but many will then duly proceed to purchase the cards anyway.... and they know it.

They were clearly hoping that MFG would sell the stack below the 5090. They've done a 4080 12gb on the entire stack below the 5090

It does seem strange that the only one they seem bothered about selling is the 5090, when there is so little supply.

Yeah they say that but they still arrange it all and hold the stock might as well say they sell it, even the rma is handled by them

I was pretty set that this gen would see me splash some cash and upgrade from a 3090 but the 5080 is very "meh" for the price and needs more VRAM. The 5090 isn't much better than a 4090 and is too expensive.

Underwhelmed, will wait for the node shrink.

MFG gets more redundant the lower the stack you go because the starting base FPS gets lower , weird because something like this you'd think would be something to add FPS to cheaper cards that don't have the performance and need a boost

Why did Linus review the card running Cyberpunk with RT OFF???

Was it just to say what they did during this bit, that it "gives the 4090 a run for its money" lol....

I really dislike the way retailers haven’t revealed pricing. Is this an nvidia thing or a retailer thing?

At this rate, I will attempt to buy a 5090 tomorrow, but will focus on the FE.

Exactly. Upscaling is brilliant for this, frame gen and multi frame gen just seems like a way for people to max out their mega high refresh rate monitors (while making the game feel and look worse).

There's an overhead for it as well - your base framerate drops the more frames you generate.
