Sold my 320mb GTS nearly a fortnight ago and got a damn good price so i am happy in that respect. Otherwise, not having a gaming rig is driving me mad. Pathetic availability of the GT, along with ATI's latest offerings not looking brilliant on price and performance is now seriously doing my head in.

Just wish stock levels would go up and price go down.

RULE BREAKAGE

I have bought 99% of all my stuff for the last 4 years from ocuk but not my GT.:(

And really disappointed in Gibbo since he posted the prices in the week leading up to launch and then ocuk put them up by £30.

Guess that's just the law of economics - supply and demand but still leaves a bitter taste

Crysis runs on low on my brothers 7600something too, i'm quite happy with it :) Gonna give him my GT for christmas and find some temporary card while i work on music :)

Hey there,
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to just go an pre-order on of OcUK's own 8800GTs, and i wish to know if they are that much different to that of, say, a BFG 8800GT?

Oh and when are the OcUKs cards going to be in stock? :p

Hoping my EVGA Superclock will be shipped out tomorrow as the site says ETA: 16/11/07. Hopefully I preordered early enough as Gibbo said there's only a small number of them coming in.

OcUK branded 8800 is exactly the same as the others. Basically its the same reference board and cooler just different stickers on and obviously different customer services and bundle with the package. With the OcUK you get 1 year warranty and (Call of Juraz PC game - I think).

Thanks for that, helped a lot :P
Im *hoping* that if i ordered one of OcUK's 8800GTs or another 8800GT that i'd be able to get it delivered this Saturday, along with other things i have ordered.
D'ya think this would be possible?

Cool glad it helped. Some of the cards you will notice also have different clock speeds, thats another factor thats different with each brand - some set them a little bit higher (pre-clocked), essentially though the same card. It depends if what you order is in stock, wha time you make the order, and what shipment menthod you use. Best thing to do is ring up and speak to someone they would be able to tell you best!

Yeah, i noticed that the BFG one has faster clock speeds, but only just.
I don't think i would want to overclock the card, as people have been saying that it gets hot without overclocking, and i don't want to risk it. :P
I may give them a call and see what's what.
I'll probably just wait until tomorrow, and see what the status is on the cards.
Thanks for the help!

I've been hearing that the fan on them by default is only @ 30% so if you increase that the temperatures should drop - otherwise they are quite high yeah.

True.

Mine would lock up playing crysis and COD4 with the fan set at 30% and temps were in the 90s and idled in the 60s

Ive set the fan to the loudest i can tolerate, 70% and its dropped idle/load temps to 54/79 degrees.

On 100% it sounds like a leaf blower, reminds me of my old 7600GT and the even older 5800 Ultra :p
