NVIDIA 8800 GTS Series - Which One To Choose?

they will all work on your mobo.

All depends what monitor you have and how much you are willing to spend tbh. At 1680x1050 I wouldn't go anything lower than 3850pro 512 or 9600GT 512Mb.

AFAIK 3850pro 512 < 9600GT < 3870XT < 8800GT 512 < 8800GTS 512.

As said I'd you'd be very happy with the GT especially at the price they're selling now. I wouldn't go for the overclocked GT version, money is better spent towards a GTS.

In terms of price/performance the list is a little different though.

More like exactly the opposite.

That said, I've just bought a 8800GTS 512mb.... :D

I'm still leaning towards the GTS and I've seen benchmarks and it outperforms the GT every time (except in Counter Strike at certain resolutions (which I couldn't care less about))

Plus it has better cooling.

The difference in price is also minimal. The GTS I will probably get is £191 and the GT I would get is £182.

Why do you want to waste 182 on a GT when a 146 GT will perfrom the same

in games?

I have owned Both the GT and GTS so have first hand experience in both

cards.

I have clocked both too.

They're not so your question is Moot.

Well not exactly.

I was trying to ask which card you think is the better card regardless of price.

Putting it another way, if you were given a card by someone else and they offered you either a GT or a GTS which one would you choose?

The GTS is marginally faster but not worth the money over a GT.

Your not having the card giving to you.... you want to buy a GT for similar

money to a GTS.

When the answer is to get a 146 GT and be done with it.

If you going to spend 190 on a GFX card you may aswell get an X2
