NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

So basically, same board as the 3080 with 20GB VRAM... this was the '20GB 3080' that was planned, but then they took it off the schedule back to design to make it faster in response to the Big Navi reveals. Also some members were saying: "there was never a 20GB 3080 or a 16GB 3070 planned". Yeah, right...

If this rumour is true, and there is no reason to think it wouldn't be given the consistence of the reports coming out, then things make more sense now. It's going to be smaller and cooler than a 3090, with similar performance, for cheaper. I am guessing MSRP will be £900-1000 or so and if it's cheaper I will be pleasantly surprised.

Considering the price of 3080 AIB cards, i have no idea how Nvidia are going to slot in a 3080ti with an MSRP between £900-£1000. Also will people be able to get it for that amount or is it really going to be £1200 for AIB cards.

If AMD manages to keep pricing under control for the 6000 series cards, i can see Nvidia doing a pricing reshuffle for the 3000 series.

Dead right, I mentioned it in the thread (about a week after pre-orders) when I seen the leaks and people were dismissing it as nvidia wouldnt do it so soon.. like nvidia are gonna cut anyone slack, they are ruthless.

That'll be for the FE cards which will be naturally be restricted supply just like the 3080's, AIBs will cost more and plentiful, at least that was apparently the plan. The irony is that there appear to be more FE cards in peoples hands than AIB's currently because of unintended shortages.

So it looks like Watch Dogs Legion runs better on 2060 Super with RT and slightly higher settings than it does on xbox series x.

Well must be a train wreck on Xbox then because I found it near on unplayable at any resolution or settings on my 3080.

Could not hold 60fps no matter what I tried and 60fps was very choppy.

So is a 3080 able to run WDL with the high res texture pack and have it fit in the 10GB vram buffer?
Thought that was confirmed a while ago in the 10gb is it enough thread? :p

The card seems to run out of grunt before it does of vram from what we can see so far.

This is actually only slightly debatable? I think it is working without problems, but I would need to test it a bit more, since I have old CPU and waiting for a new one to play it.
So these are max settings, extra details are set to 100% in native 4K, with RTX on max, but without DLSS which lowers vRAM consumption a bit.

How have you been getting on with your 3080? I'm now 867th in the queue! :D
So far so good. Runs everything I have tested in my steam library without a problem :)

I am 58th for ASUS TUF 3080. Need to decided which one I want to keep, the FE or the TUF :p

I have to say though, most of the RT stuff I have seen is just as underwhelming in person as it is in pictures and youtube. I really hope Cyberpunk 2077 makes better use of it.

WDL looks good for RT. I'm happy to give it months to mature as a game before I play it.

I thought that until today.

Call of duty campaign I think it looks really good IMO.
