And what do we know about the 3080ti.................Nothing
But but but there could be a new Titan GPU and then again there could notonly two things we know for sure:
* it will be expensive
* it will be the fastest Nvidia gpu
Yes, the LG CX 48 does look tempting if you can sit far enough away from it...3080ti and the LG CX 48 for me
They should consider consoles because I am. (and I'm probably not alone)
Nvidia's GPU's aren't really "needed" for anything other than gaming. I can build a powerful computer for everything I need other than gaming, migrate an old GPU into it, and then put one of the new consoles on the desk next to that computer and still have a bunch of extra money left for upgrading my wheel, or pedals or whatever.

It will also...just work.
It will also be cheaper if you buy more than one.
^^^ So much this. 100% agree. If you take out the gaming, then the main speed up from the GPU which I actually use is the encoding from NVENC ... and thats generally the same performance across a family of nVidia GPU's. A 1050ti would manage the same as my 1080ti.
The console then looks a pretty decent consideration. Maybe less so in the past for previous generations, where the GPU's were lower in price, but considering how the cards are stacking up ... consoles are looking to offer good performance / £ compared to a gaming PC.
The hype is realOK there now 2,838 posts in this thread

No they don't see themselves like apple that's a completely different context. NVidia are indisputably market and performance leaders in their field with currently no competition to keep them in check and prices are set accordingly.Yes. I said this a while ago. That this year the competition will be against not just AMD but also the consoles.
Fingers crossed this means competitive prices. However sometimes I think Nvidia see themselves as a company like Apple.
Expensive = Premium

Its actually worse than that because at least with Apple you are buying into a certain styling and design that you get to experience along with an ecosystem of products that work together. Nvidia GPUs are simply a blackbox that accelerate graphics most people couldn't care less what it looks like and only get to see it as it goes in or comes out a PC chassis. They definitely follow the likes of Apple in that regard unsurprising really as they are just down the road in Silicon Valley.
980Ti was the last time the Ti cards were kind of reasonably priced, but still not cheap (500 odd) then they started rising to stupid levels.Still hoping for a >40% uplift in rasterization, for the 3080Ti at least, and cheaper than the 2080Ti launched at. If it meets that criteria and AMD don't have anything to compete with it, it'll get my money day one if I can find stock.
Here's hoping that AMD can find a way to compete!

3070 will probably offer best value for the performance i imagine

Don't buy one at new prices though as they will drop like a stone in 8 months or so. TV prices are outrageous.
Was the last time they had competition too. The 1080ti was only $50 more (and still is a great performer 3 years on) but 2080ti pricing jump was silly.
Completely agree. However I'd just got a new PC and a 4K TV that I wanted to use it on so begrudgingly stumped up for a 2080Ti instead of an EOL 1080Ti.
Unfortunately I doubt prices will shift much on the new 48in OLEDS as, going by all the chatter on the internet, every gamer and his dog wants one for their shiny new Series X and/or PS5.
