NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Unfortunately I doubt prices will shift much on the new 48in OLEDS as, going by all the chatter on the internet, every gamer and his dog wants one for their shiny new Series X and/or PS5.
What? Prices always drop by 30-50% when the next gen are announced and incoming. Like... every year. Without fail.

Buying a new and full priced TV is literally one of the best ways to throw away money because the depreciation is famously bad even by the standards of luxury electronics.

Yes, the LG CX 48 does look tempting if you can sit far enough away from it...

Don't buy one at new prices though as they will drop like a stone in 8 months or so. TV prices are outrageous.
Hopefully near the end of the year for me, I have the c8 for my main TV so the 48 is the sweet spot for the pc, I just hope the 3080ti or whatever its called has the juice to power it for many years.

Except they haven't though. Dont get me wrong, i really want them to. But they haven't. I've been checking every two or 3 days, camelcamelcameling an pricespying as i'm looking at a 65'' c9 but its sitting pretty at £1980. The CX is (just about) out there now and youd think maybe theyd knock a couple hundred quid off last years model but nope. Surprised as well considering in the news its been reported LG are losing money on TV's since the beginning of 2020.

B9 is near enough the same for £4-500 less.

Not looking hard enough :p

Christmas/NY is the time to look out for LG deals. They drop in price like clockwork just before CES to offload as much old product as possible.

You might get price drops later but it's not worth waiting imo.

I am not getting you wrong, you are getting things wrong. :p The biggest reductions are at the common sale periods and there are still good deals if you use price searches.

Seeing as the CX has just dropped I will gladly eat my words if a LGC965'' is available at £995 to £1390. I can't say I've seen any of those at the moment. The aforementioned post by d3K is a nice find but still isn't any less than black friday or jan sales, which you rightly stated.

ive been looking at the 55 inch version theres a massive price difference for those 10 inches..

some say 10 inches is a big difference.... I was looking at the 55 for a long time and decided if im going to spongle this much on a tv then may as well go a big as possible within the budget.

I completely agree, it seems madness to buy new tv at full retail.

If you wait a year and keep an eye out on hukd they go for half price or less.

Retail on my fald qled was £2400 and I paid £1070 a year after release.

Yes, because you missed the sales when they were basically half price, even the 65C9. There will be more sales later in the year.

OK, tbh i'm missing your point and you keep informing me i'm wrong. So you win the internet for today.

I read your post in the context that, the X (or 10) series LG OLEDs have just released and that there were mind blowing discounts available at this moment in time, which i had missed.

From what I gather you're saying now is that there were price reductions about 6 months ago.

I don't know what the release price was for the 65'', this time last year, but i'm guessing about £2.6-3K? In which case, the lowest price I've seen of £1,699 (black friday) aligns with your 30-50% off statement. Of the release list price. 6 months ago.

Thanks for the tip off.

Thought the b9 wasnt getting gsync update ?
It already has it. Got one myself and it got the update not so long after the C9 did. People seem to think there is a big difference between the B9 and C9, there really is not. That used to be the case on the older ranges before perhaps.
