A 3070 would likely be a very decent upgrade from your Titan XP and come with much better RT than even a 2080Ti can provide. The 3080Ti will likely be £800+ due to our currency not being any good at the moment.

I think it's the same with every generation, AMD and Nvidia - "This next release is going to blow the last gen out of the water, slaughter the competition and cost half the price!"
Usually followed by a lot of disappointment when the truth is revealed.

This time around we have competition from AMD so I don't think we'll be price gouged as much this time... here's what I'm thinking ( hoping at least.. )
RTX 3070 - £474.99 90% performance of RTX 2080 Ti
RTX 3080 - £619.99 110% performance of RTX 2080 Ti
RTX 3080 Ti - £799.99-£849.99 145% performance of RTX 2080 Ti
These are all of course raw figures, where games are optimised for Ampere we'll see all cars further increase there lead and I'd expect the 3070 to leapfrog the Ti... all of course providing much better Ray tracing performance.

I think when the 3080 Ti drops people will think longingly to the days when the 2080 Ti was "only" £1100. Funnier still if they actually drop the x80 Ti a peg and make the proper highest end chip Titan only.
Below the highest end there's a lot of room for price cuts & competition, but at that highest peak it's gonna be an absolute gut-punch in terms of pricing.

I think we're going to see a pricing lineup very similar to what we have now, because NVidia have realised that they have a market at those levels. AMD still haven't shown anything that competes at the top end.

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with that, would probably pick up a 3080Ti at those prices but it would be pushing the upper end. Any more and I pretty much wouldn't bite.
It will be a while before I ever try AMD again I got a 5700xt a few weeks back and drivers were a complete mess. Hardly any of my games worked in HDR, games kept crashing on boot, games kept running at wrong resolution and HZ.
It's nvidia only for me this time round, I will try AMD again in a couple of years if they have there stuff together by then.
Benchmarks will be interesting on release. There's speculation that a Ti card is really only going to be worth it for 4k 144Hz gaming and lower resolutions framerates will be kneecapped by all but the fastest CPUs. If that turns out to be the case, I'm not sure what path to take from my 1080Ti as I'm not interested in 4k.

I agree... had to return my 5700XT a while ago as drivers were horrific.... ended up with a 1080.

I think the performance increases per tier are reasonable, and likely to be the case for the 3080 / 3080 Ti. I think the 3070 might end up lower though - 90% of the performance of the 2080 Ti seems like a lot for a XX70 card, and might instantly devalue the 2080 Ti too much. I think 80% will probably be more likely. Whilst this might seem like not enough of a jump, I think it needs to sit between "clearly better than the 2070S" and "not a replacement for the 2080 Ti".
In terms of price, I don't see any of the prices being this low. I don't think AMD are, at the time of speaking, competing with Nvidia in the eyes of the average consumer. And the average consumer won't be on here discussing what further Big Navi etc. might bring. All of this will allow Nvidia to maintain pricing along the lines of the 2000 series. I would expect the 3070 to be maybe £500 (so more or less there), the 3080 to be £700, and the 3080 Ti to be £1k or £1.2k. To be clear, I really don't like those prices or agree with them, but I don't see Nvidia bringing out new cards at such a price level when they don't have to. And if they are pushed by AMD eventually, then I think they will still probably just insert Super cards on top of the 3000 series again to regain the performance crown whilst holding price.

Yea I get the feeling the game will do better on an nvidia card also. So many reasons why I am going green on this occasion. Would be surprised if AMD came out with a card that offers much better price for performance to be honest, but we will see. By the time my next upgrade comes after this one I would like to get a new monitor also that is both gsync and freesync, ideally an oled. But happy with this one for another couple of years.

I got £30 of Steam vouchers with various hardware when I upgraded so I think Cyberpunk worked out at £19.99. Mitigates the risk of it's rubbish!
Ive never owned a top range gpu ive always had the 70's version and if the 3080ti is over 1K i wont be buying it either. If we have a 70 £400/£450 80 £550/£600 Ti £750/£800 then i might eventually jump to the TI but il probably get the 70 again at half the price as usual haha

I think what you've described in terms of pricing is where the market should be aiming and you might get that tiering from AMD but I honestly can't see it from Nvidia. I think they will launch first and try to maintain the current price points, hoover up the early adopters (not mugs for the benefit of doubt) and pivot if they need to based on what AMD release. Commercially they have no reason to give away their leadership advantage until compelled to do and its just not their style to go for a more mass market lower margin approach Nvidia wants you to buy datacentre cards at 20k a piece ideally
I think you could be right. Nvidia are the Intel of graphics. Most people will buy regardless. They don't need to be equal to AMD on performance, as long as they are close they can still charge more just on mindshare. I don't expect AMD to be cheap just cheaper and Nvidia's pricing to be similar to the current prices.

LOL. If AMD could just put something out that equalled nvidia towards the top end, the prices might be a little more under control.
