Because nvidia is the number 1 currently in the gpu market and in the gaming market.

Devs can’t afford to not optimise/develop for pcs and nvidia in general. Considering more users today are using pc than ever before and far more than current people on console.

For me I can and I can’t see it. I want them to win to drive prices down in general. However, Nvidia have DLSS 2.0 and already that is a huge success with better visuals for less power, it will only get better with time. AMD won’t have anything as good. Then RTX. It’s unlikely AMD will have something on rdna2 that can even compete with current gen nvidia never mind ampere.

The only thing that will allow them to win is both general performance and price. But even then if nvidia’s RTX/DLSS performance is there next gen, most would pay a little extra to have its features. So it really needs to be something special for AMD to win and let’s face it, Nvidia aren’t Intel and they will be prepared.

I seem to remember someone on the internet (very trustworthy i know), saying that Nvidia does most of the optimisation themselves and don't really on developers due to the black box nature of their stuff.

Anyone know if this is valid?

you missed it then cos when the Chief Architect of Sony PlayStation talks about 2.2GHz clockspeed on a known CU count with a easily discernible die size you can take raw RDNA1 numbers from Navi as is and see that what's coming....

Those aren't rumours they are known quantities just like you wanting Nvidia GPUs to increase in price (which is borderline insane btw but I might have missed the point on that)

On that we agree, AMD need the raw perf and price to embarrass Nvidia not simply under cut them by a few %

Was going to respond to Melmac's post but am convinced he's arguing for the sake of argument now.

Well there are fins in the middle between the two fans so it's a push me pull you card designed by Dr Doolittle. Possibly;)

On a more serious note isn't one fan a high static pressure fan and one a higher speed/air flow fan from comparing to the dozens of excess unused fans I have cluttering up my flat. I'd Imagine one blows air out the case like a normal blower while the other cools the memory and exhausts up or down (or possibly all around:cool:).

That's not 'evidence' that's again just speculation! All I'm asking is that you clearly differentiate between what is actual fact and what is conjecture/rumour.
 
Yeah although I do enjoy Moore's Law is Dead channel I don't subscribe/follow, as its just speculation talk, something to do until the actual reviews get here.

Yeah I understand you want a reliable source to benchmark the hardware and you’re not likely to see that until it becomes expedient for either party. What I’m saying is there are some tangible facts around the hardware already, not enough to say exactly what the parts are but enough to say with certainty that RDNA 2 is decent and not a bag of rusty spanner’s
 
FYI: Igor's lab says the leak is 100% real, that is a real RTX3080 cooler and Nvidia is ******. The company that are builds Nvidia's coolers(Build Your Dreams) is now under investigation to find who there leaked it.

It's supposed to be real hush hush at this stage, even Nvidia sales managers have not yet been shown what the GPU looks like, so this leak is extremely fresh and someone at BYD is gonna get fired).

According to that article the FE has the cut out for the cooler but the ones for Board Partners will be the regular rectangle shape. They also claim cost of the FE cooler is $150USD.
 
Wouldnt be surprised but I have a feeling it was plucked out of the air. Photos leaked yeah but no mention of any documentation showing costs someones just worked out how much the cooler would cost just by looking at it and given an estimate. Considering you could get a Next G12 and AIO cooler for less than that retail plus an AC Xtreme iV for a 2080ti is £56.99 retail and very good at cooling I cant see it being $150 USD more like $50 USD.
