NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Yes. I agree my price point is about £500. I don’t really want to go above that as sometimes I may not even game for months at a time depending of how busy work/life is.

Pretty much the same scenario for me. Around 500 tops I feel is the most I'm willing to pay and it would have to be able to beat my Vega 64 by at least 60ish% otherwise I might as well just keep what I have and wait for the next, next-gen. Everything else has gone up in price ever since human malware started to be a problem. Things are plenty expensive enough already.

You're assuming the card in question is top of the range? For all we know, the card that has been spotted at 40% over the 2080ti could be the "3070" or "3070 Super" or the "3080 super duper". That's the point I'm making, they've changed the model nomenclature yet again so it's best to focus on performance for your price point.
I guessed it was the 3080ti at 40% over the 2080ti.
I based this on the 980ti being 40% faster than the 780ti i had, the 1080ti being 40% faster than the 980ti and the 2080ti being 40% faster than the 1080ti
Lets hope its the 3060 and the 3080ti/3090 is 200% faster than the 2080ti, i’ll get one!

Lol :D

I would rather think that than what others are think though, like 3070 being the speed of a 2080. So like a 10% improvement. Lol. They can keep it unless such a card is priced at £299 or something.

They need to bring the performance if they want to keep charging the silly prices. Price for performance needs to improve!

Yea, you don't know for sure and you're incorrect regarding 980ti to 1080ti performance uplift. You don't even know if there's going to be a "3080ti" which is why I mentioned the change in nomenclature, it's deliberately confusing.

Anyway, I've made my point and you're more than welcome to hold an alternative point of view. :)

Many people here go on about Nvidia prices
Is it just me that more afraid on how much the retailers are going to mark up the prices

Example
Nvidia release a GPU for say £800 and the retailers put a huge chunk on it and sell it for £1200

They should do like in the 90s, fancy big box and ‘free’ demo cds :D ...for an extra £100

I don’t, it’s all speculation and opinions so far. My 980ti to 1080ti was around a 40% performance improvement though, maybe 35-40%
Edit, will have a look what benchmarks/game screen captures i got later on

Allegedly the 3090 is the replacement name for the 3080ti, not the Titan.

The stuff I heard speculated they would hold back the Titan naming and it 3090 in case it got beaten and preserve the Titan name as unbeatable.

Those clock speeds look low so there could be a lot more in the tank.

Hopefully November this year

ha well the 2070 super launched at $499 so if the 3070 launches at that price with 2080ti performance but with better RT cores then i could still bite as my 1070 is ageing now Would much prefer it to be £400 tho
£/$499 is simply unsustainable as we come out of lockdown. Mass unemployment in the developed World means prices will have to drop very fast. 2080TI performance for £299. Not a penny more!

Or they'll just charge more to those that can afford it / still have jobs to try and maintain overall sales revenue.

Except that there may not be enough people who have the money ,*and* enjoy wasting it on poor value, to "maintain overall sales revenue".

...although, we don't know what performance will be available and at what prices.

2080ti performance at $500 would be meh, in my view, but not a total rip off.

Buy from the retailers who sell at RRP then. That’s what I do even if I have to wait a bit.

Anyone considered if they have just rebadged their cards so the 3090 is just a 2080 equivalent so they can make it appear they have cut prices when they have actually increased them
