The prices have gone up over Turing for the top model.

The RTX2080TI was $999~$1199. RTX2070 was $499~$599.RTX2060~$350. Only the RTX3080 has the same price as the RTX2080.
Seems like my £550 prediction for the 3070 is going to come true, sadly. (Or my earlier prediction/tea-leaf-reading of £600+ .. could be either :p)

And £400+ for the 3060.

RIP mid-range, "value" cards. Was fun knowing you.

These are going to run hot hot hot. I wonder how the pcie slots will cope with the weight of these things if the cards bend. they look heavy as

I'm totally fine with a 3 slot card; indeed I wish they'd done that for the 20 series. But then I remember the uproar when 2 slot cards came in. And the uproar when cards started to require extra power.

Think, that 5 years ago you could get the second best Nvidia GPU,ie,the GTX980TI in that price range, and now its 3rd,or maybe 4th best. There is probably also a Turing which is the "premium" tier.

That's a big one!

Lordy that is a big mutha!

Yeah this has got completely out of hand tbh.

It has,but sadly it seems enough paid the prices so its worked well enough. Waits for the £300 GTX3050TI or something like that!!

:P

I don't believe those prices. We'll see in 10 days.

Maybe if they see people not liking the price they can lop off another £100.....or bundle a free 750W PSU with the first 1000 units!!

:P

We've only got ourselves to blame, as we keep buying Nvidia cards every time they bend us over.

I will pick one of these up from MM in a year or two like I did with the RTX 2080 Ti. New pricing just too much for me.

Lol its true though isnt it.. ffs. £150 pascal got you a 1050Ti. Can get nothing with the 2000 series so you have to up it to a 2060 for £300+.

With 3000 you will have to wait a bit but the entry cards gonna now be £400+ lmfao

PCIe slots don't just break without significant external force, such as a full system being thrown around during shipping with inadequate internal packaging. People have been using aftermarket coolers that are a lot larger and heavier than this thing for a long time (some of them end up taking up about five slots once you add fans). Hell, even some high end Turing cards are about as large as this is. The fact that it's held in via a true triple-slot I/O plate and three screws means it'll put less strain on anything than a lot of the huge "2.5" slot cards do that only secure with two. Motherboards are a lot stronger than people think anyway. I remember when people used to make the claim that huge tower air coolers would snap your motherboard, yet I've literally never heard of it actually happening.
