NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I wonder if the high prices are partly to prevent a manopoly? Current prices got them up to 80%. If next gen was cheaper, we could be looking at 95%. Competition watchdogs investigate, then the government splits up the company: a gaming division and a professional division.

Jensen definitely won't want that, so it would make business sense to raise prices by quite a bit.

I remember 7970Ghz edition and it was about £350 and I bought when they came down to £300. Cant remember the cost of the 7990 but I remember they sent me a higher Hz version than the one I'd paid for, by accident.

The special Powercolor Devil 13 version was a grand:

Great looking card for its time

Can only say for the UK competition and markets authority as I've got a little experience on this front having done a little work with these theme. Their main focus is ensuring that large companies who may have monopolies don't adversely affect the consumer and try to put remedies in place to stop them from doing this.

Nvidia raising prices for the consumer like they have while having an 80% market share is Nvidia displaying some anti competitive behaviour.

Raising the prices to avoid increasing market share further from 80% is not a notion they would accept lol.

Indeed and I remember buying it on the new shop open event at OCUK after getting up at 4am to travel there in good time and buying one for £199.99 :D

99% likely that all the AIB cards will be a traditional design. It'll just be the founders edition that are ludicrously expensive with the over engineered thermal solution, just so launch day reviews aren't full of "NVIDIA takes note from AMD, RTX3000 series HOT and LOUD!" :p
I can't see the AIBs being cheaper than reference/FE. When has that actually happened in reality?

I am thinking of running a book on who blows a fuse on release when price/perfomance is known :D
When the 3060 6GB costs >£400, and performs worse than a 2070S, I will spend the first half of the day laughing, then the second half crying, followed by taking all my eggs and putting them in AMD's basket.

So yeah, you can add me to that book for sure.
