NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

It's about time AMD pulled their finger out and leaked some more RDNA2 information.
As Nvidia is having all their own way at the moment on the PR front.

People said that when the GTX280 launched, and then we had the HD4870 get released. I think AMD is waiting to see what Nvidia is bringing to the table first. Best not to fire their load too early!

I also saw this gif on AT forums:

:p

Looking back at this now, was Jensen hinting at how hot these things were going to be???

He is handling them with oven mits after all :D :P :D

I think amd knew all about this release from nvidia, waiting for them to shoot themselves in the foot, and then sell us some beautiful shoes.... Or something

Rumour has it AIB models will offer a 3080 in a configuration of either 10Gb or 20Gb.
It's a shame they didn't think to just go to straight to 16Gb for the 3080 and just leave it at that.

At this time I have pretty much ruled the 3090 out as the cost including an PSU upgrade is just not worth it (imho).

But I am more interested in the 3080 (20Gb).
As spec wise that is a closer successor to the 2080ti than the 3090 which is basically a cheaper version of the Titan.

And of coarse I'm still open minded about a 16Gb RDNA2 card, as priced right that could be real temping.

Hmm ok, I just checked my CIV6 again and its bouncing off the near limit on the card now at 10,921Mb of VRAM lol. Yep, time to get a card with more VRAM, worst is that its only 3440x1440 res at 100Hz. I want to move to doing 4k from a LG C10 48" or gaming LCD in future, I wonder if thats going to be an issue :confused::confused:
