Nvidia App - the new replacement for the Legacy Nvidia Control Panel,Geforce Experience and RTX Experience

I don't trust the auto oc feature, Afterburner is the only way to maintain a stable and reliable OC/UV really.

Thanks Mark. I wasn't too bothered about using it, as such. Just interested in my findings. I'll probably mention what I had noted over in their forums at some point.
I don't wish to OC, just curious on what it did.

A combination of RTSS AB and HWiNFO64 seems to still have relevance over that of what can be done with the app at this point, and probably will do. Providing the dev of AB / RTSS will still continue with them. For now he seems to have gone AWOL. Oh, and requested his account to be deleted.

i find it very meh.

i used the overlays to add filters, which was cool for about 20 mins until it froze and the overlay couldn't be removed - so thats now disabled.

i find it very meh.

I'm in this boat too... meh meh meh.

I find that the way user interfaces are being developed across the board are genuinely adding to frustrations.
I would say that 70-80% of product updates are to look pretty but forgot to bother about the user interfacing with them.

Damn, I'm all wound up this afternoon  hope I find that Christmas spirit soon :D

I would expect a little latency or some minor performance drops when using overlays and monitoring in general. But, for some maybe, there could be more occurring here...

I have not tested myself, but, for now, I am not using that app as an overlay nor have it enabled.
The findings, although not consistent, seem to scale with resolution. Perhaps. for me at 4k, meaning little hobnomolies should be factored, if occurring at all.

People need to chill, the issue is only present when game filters/photo mode (or RTX HDR which has an additional fps hit on top) is being used. If you never use game filters or RTX HDR, then merely having the overlay on for game recording or metrics etc does not drop the fps.

In fact... I noted the fps hits months ago on here in relation to game filters and later RTX HDR when Wukong came out. Seems I was ahead of the curve once again and now everyone else is finding out

I turned the overlay off (I'd not changed anything since installing except turning G-Sync on) and everything seems much smoother, particularly tabbing in and out of games.

Can't seem to use that Customize Input Resolution For DLSS Super Resolution in any of the games I've got installed. The box to input the % isn't allowing me to enter a number.

I wonder if it's only working for titles they've whitelisted.

I keep trying to use the Nvidia App, but then something will happen or it's missing a feature I want and I end up uninstalling it. Nvidia CP and Nvidia Profile Inspector has everything I need.

The last time I uninstalled was because I wanted to force the Transformer model with the latest preset, but that option wasn't supported in the App for that game. It works in NPI, but the App resets NPI after every game launch. So the App had to go.

Since when did Nvidia start using the moniker 'Super Resolution'? Is this just a way to distinguish upscaling from Frame-Gen under the same DLSS banner?
They've been doing it for a while, but really stuck to it more recently. It's all DLSS technology, so they had to distinguish between Super Resolution, Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction.

Why does the Scaling option now have a picker for resolution/%?? Previously, you would just enable it and that would make additional scaled options available by Windows. Maybe it sets the desktop to that resolution for borderless games?
