NVIDIA Demonstrates Witcher 3 With Hair Works – Talks Hair Simulation, Next-Gen FleX PhysX and Turbu

People should not have been quick to lambast Crytek over Crysis. It was one of the last few games to really show what the PC could do as a platform. It even looks decent as a game now and that was over 8 years ago.

I wish we had another Crysis like step up in graphics for the PC again!:(
A lot of people (if not here, certainly elsewhere) seem to adopt the bizarre position that if a game can't run nearly maxed out at 60fps on their mid-range card from two years ago, it's "unoptimised" and the developers should be hung at dawn. I guess developers don't want to push the boundaries too much, as the more machines it can run (acceptably) on, the more potential customers.

Yeah,I mean pushing hardware less, means probably more customers, but it is because PC gamers tend to want to have their cake and eat it,and not spend the money.

But when Crysis it out,Nvidia had released the 8800GT and 8800GTS 512MB which could run it at decent settings for a reasonable cost. Plus the HD3870 and HD3850 were cheaper cards, which would run it OK if you dropped a few settings. Basically you have to spend MORE now on cards.

So in retrospect, too many PC owners complained about the game and the cost of the hardware now,and didn't want to spend the money.

Crytek was one of the few last PC centric game devs left who were pushing the PC.

Crysis did not sell enough,so they went multi-platform after that and PC owners chastised them for that.

They were damned if they did and damned if they didn't.

PhysX effects in the game seem to be done on the CPU and are not switchable so I guess they're going to run on either card but I don't know about the rest.

EDIT: Unless they've done something to gimp those on AMD setups which, knowing Nvidia's track record, might well be the case;p

Had I said something like that I'd be banned right now. #rulesforone

I say this every time... trailers and bullshots are always fake. ALWAYS

I don't know why people can't get this into their thick heads.

I wouldnt call them fake, they are very real, just not what is going to end up in the final version of the game as consoles are ****.

Looks like those days are well and truly behind us :(

When you have dev's threatened by the likes of Sony and MS to ensure their games run on their platforms at the expense of PC's, those days are well and truly numbered. Still, they can just blame it on the old piracy chestnut.

Problem is that high end PC gaming is such a small fraction of the sales. The developer would spend a lot of manpower and money tweaking a game but with very little reward.

Unfortunately the consoles is where the money is right now and they will always lead a multi plat title.

Leave us a patch, something, anything that would bring back the **** they removed. It's not as though it wasnt there in the first place, so if developers remotely cared about PC gamers, they would have the option there for us to patch the game to restore it.

With the slow down in card performance jumps and the fact we don't appear to be any Crysis level jumps on the PC anymore, its just a boring time to be a PC enthusiast anymore. I expect the R9 300 series to a bore fest too. I am hoping next year with Pascal and whatever AMD can muster,it might make things interesting again.

I just hope CD Projekt Red deliver with Cyberpunk 2077.

Now we know the real reason for the months delay. It was in order to dumb it down to console level. Beginning not to trust any developer anymore.

Now where did I put that kickass url.....
