Nvidia disables PhysX when ATI card is present with an Nvidia card for windows 7.

I couldn't give a tinkers cuss about physx in itself what bothers me is the way nvidia are going they will be beggers to their own demise and as a pc gamer i want strong companys competing meaning i pay less for stuff not one company that seems to enjoy peeing everyone off. I think the anger here is not so much about physx but yet another example of nvidia trying to force their will and dictating what people can have maybe i am wrong but thats how i read the thread.

Yes i know, but who cares, i could understand if it was something that wasn't a gimmick and pointless, but PhsyX, come on, theres no need to cry about them disabling that and dictating is there, its nowt. :)

I think it's more the pattern nvidia seem to be following and while this time it is physx what will it be next time that might be a bigger thing for a lot more users.

I think people are up in arms that Nvida effectively say you can't have a radeon card in the PC, that is like forcing.
and making those that already have put money into suffer, they are only customers. Not not their enemy (ATI).

And if I ask this question, why do you guys buy radeons ? I think there would be another 7 pages explain why, than the Nvidia fanbois come out than >_>

but Ill answer that question

why buy a more expensive product when a cheaper one can do that same job and just as well ? a Graphics card renders stuff at the end of the day. it not a damm physics card :p you just get a cheap one for that :D

Its true though, everyone was calling it a gimmick, load of crap, useless, a worthless feature, it won't be used, it'll die off etc... etc..., its all there in Pottseys old threads, yet somehow thats changed now, as now those people are up in arms getting irate because Nv are disabling it when an ATi card is present, so can someone let me know how Nv doing that, has made this feature now so wonderful, and how its going to change the face of gaming forever, just by them disabling it when an ATi card is present, as i just can't fathom out how them doing that can, but it must have, as we have a 7 page thread here now, of those people now crying about them disabling that worthless, useless, gimmicky feature that won't ever be used so die off
That's verging on gibberish but I'll try to respond to it. Currently PhysX is gimmicky and shallow but that doesn't mean it's worthless. And we need wide support for a feature before it becomes a standard and PhysX can be used as an integral part of the gameplay. Unfortunately nVidia is deliberately limiting their market, whether that's people that already own nVidia cards that they want to use for PhysX (like myself) or potential customers looking for a cheap way to improve their computer. All I can say is that I'm annoyed because I have an nVidia PhysX capable card that I can't use because I have an ATi card for my primary graphics - is that not a valid enough reason to be annoyed?

I never really payed much attention, but when Nvidia took over physx did they actually market it as something that could be paired up with an ati card?

If yes then that really is out of order, but I would be suprised if they did. I think that trying to combine a nivida card with an ati card in the same machine is just asking for trouble.

+1 it was always just another tick on the front of the box, i wont be boycotting Nvidea because of this thats totally pointless, if there dx11 cards have the best price/perfomance i will get one its as simple as that! i bought an ATI card thinking i couldnt use Nvidea features (well i cant i use Vista) but if i had wanted them i would have bought a Nvidea card.
