**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

G-SYNC is sweet but far from free

Ryan was not the only one to test the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q G-Sync monitor, Overclockers Club also received a model to test out. Their impressions of the 27" 2560 x 1440 TN panel were very similar, once they saw this monitor in action going back to their 30-inch 60Hz IPS monitor was not as enjoyable as once it was. The only bad thing they could say about the display was the MSRP, $800 is steep for any monitor and makes it rather difficult to even consider getting two or more of them for a multiple display system.

”When you get down to it, the facts are that even with a TN panel being used for the high refresh rate, the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q G-Sync monitor delivers great picture quality and truly impressive gaming. I could go on all day long about how smooth each of the games played while testing this monitor, but ultimately not be able to show you without having you sit at the desk with me. No stuttering, no tearing, no lag; it's like getting that new car and having all the sales hype end up being right on the money. When I flip back and forth between my 60Hz monitor and the PC278Q, its like a night and day experience.”

Meh!!! I want G-Sync right now :(

I might hold off on the Asus while waiting for the Acer 4k reviews or availability on both - will be interesting to see how gsync compares at 144hz vs 60hz

That and ive just had a shipping notification on my DK2 so depending on how good that is i might not even be gaming on a monitor for a while

Awesome. Very interested to see your feedback on the rift.

They say it's night and day differences going between 60hz monitor and a Gsync one, I should hope so because it's a night and day difference going between 60hz and 120hz.

I hope reviewers compare Gsync monitors with 144Hz/120hz monitors as well.

That's what I am hoping for. I am quite perceptible to stutter and tearing and although it isn't a game killer, I would like it gone and not substituted with input lag either.

60Hz to 120Hz was 'wow' for me and more of that and my wallet will be happy.

You still going 4K Greg or are you leaning towards the SWIFT? I can honestly say that I have not been a bigger fan of a piece of kit since I got my iPhone 3G - this monitor is in a league of its own.

Still 4k G-Sync all the way for me. I loved the Sammy 4K and the only thing that could better that for me would be G-Sync. G-Sync + 4K + 120Hz would be heaven mind :)

For real? Source?

That is superb!!!!

Wonder if it can do higher refresh at 1440 too?

No source and it was a guy on the chat on the PCper from Asus. I asked about low frames feeling smooth on G-Sync and said I had pre-ordered the Acer 4K G-Sync moni and he said that low frames wouldn't feel like more but the Acer can do 120Hz at 1080P.

Sounded legit to me anyways.

Well I find I suck worse than normal at 4K on BF4, so 1080P and 120Hz would be pretty special. I sure hope it is true anyways.

Well It will be nice to see a proper test. Looking forward to it. I hope PCM2 gets a gsync monitor too!!

I have taken a couple of days off work to give it a proper test but will only be user level reviewing only though (PCM2 and Badass will give proper reviews I expect). I am like a kid at Chrimbo at the mo and hate waiting for things :(

The 1ms on the 60Hz 4K Sammy I had was very good for losing the input lag but the Dell 1440 IPS I had was quite noticeable.
