Nvidia GameWorks teams up with Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, Tom Clancy’s The Divis

Why does it matter what other cards are getting? You can't tell me that you seriously sit there pondering what FPS a 560Ti is getting as you're flying through Arkham City?

Give me a break :p

No i would be pondering why i am stuttering all over the place and missing 45% in performance that would make the game playable.

That Farcry 3 video has me more worried than the watchdogs video. There was so much missing in it compared to watchdogs which mainly just has inferior graphics. The retail version of farcry 3 also seemed to have a lot more blur.

45 FPS = stuttering?

It's not like you're going to be running high settings with mid range card from 2 generations back. There will always be a compromise in settings - this is no different.

That's average fps. With no minimum in there it could well be dropping into the 20's a lot. i get what you are saying but there is no apparent reason as to why fxaa is performing so badly here. You are contradicting the results as it runs fine on Nvidia cards from 2 generations back.

Anyhow this has been done to death and i have put my points across right or wrong. Can't say it any more clearly than i have.

Yup same, I was pretty much sold on pre-order but after far cry 3 + other games and now watch dogs being completely different in terms of graphics/physics, there is absolutely no way I will be pre-ordering the division.

I just hope other gamers hold of on pre-orders until reviews/comparisons are up!

I am not sure. With big games like these me and my mate usually get together and complete them with Booze flowing until we are done. He has a better pc so it's usually up to him what platform we play on. We done watchdogs on the Ps4 which seems now was the best choice. We were at game 12am midnight release. If the PC visuals are not going to be that much better compared to Ps4 then most likely ps4 as day 1 you are just about 100% guaranteed to get a good experience. Farcry 4 definitely PC as its fps.

I know Joel did some to verify that a 770 was faster than a 290X when FXAA was used at 1080P.

One thing i do know is that x8AA allows the majority of AMD cards to overpower the GameWorks advantage and swing things back in their favour, or at least gain some sort of parity. Of course that's only an option on certain gpu's. AA is also something that is optimized for at driver level, so they did not need game source code or GameWorks source code to do that optimization.

What about without FXAA?
If you can turn it off, you can just use MLAA. Surely then AMD's going to not lose loads of performance then :p?

I just find it funny how Nvidia can lose THAT MUCH performance when MSAA is turned up, when AMD's loss FXAA to MSAA seems very reasonable, I wouldn't say when using FXAA that AMD's frames are low, I'd say Nvidia's frames are high.

ign have a good article about vertical slices
the problem is that what gets shown off at E3 are often these, and these are only intended to be demo's to get funding for the game, they aren't really supposed to be shown off as actual game demos, but they keep trotting them out at E3 and not really telling anyone that these are tech demos for what they hope the game might be, and not actual production ready game footage
