I wanted a card that could perform around GTX 780 Ti / 290X level at a lower cost and lower power consumption, I think tbh Nvidia delivered that with the GTX 970. Seriously tempted to get one of them, I could sell my 780 TI, I would actually make profit in the process :p

Still torn about getting a 970 over my 680 SLI 2gb.

Any advice folks? I game at 2560 res

If you are going for one 970 against 2 680s i think you are good as you are from what i have seen. But if you need the extra ram then go for it.

But if you are going for 2 x 970 win win win. I think thats the best solution right now. The 970 is priced in a nice sweet spot compared to when the 770 was launched. Good job to Nvidia

After reading the reviews I have come to this conclusion:

The 970 is an epic value card. And two in SLI will be mega.

980 is a touch disappointing.

That's how I see it. The 980 is a fast card with so much overclocking room but more for the epeen guys (which isn't a bad thing).

Slightly disappointed with the UK pricing but that's life :)

Well done nvidia, genuinely impressed with the 970.
the 980 not so much.

Now get the 970 down to 230, the 980 to 350.
and put the lazy amd on their arse.
