what can AMD do about this ? not much, only beat it on price, but this wont work because this will be Titan X for only 500 to 600 quid and therefore almost impossible to resist.

finally, i sense it'll be on sale sooner than you think.... a new card is usually leaked (as said earlier on today), 2 weeks before its release

AMD are in real trouble now and they only have themselves to blame, because this silence will drive everyone to buy Nvidia instead, well before June, leaving only a small market for AMD to fill

Will be perfect nice upgrade from my 670GTX all I need then is a new Cpu,motherboard and ram will be stuck running the 980Ti on my old Q6600 system for awhile the card won't fit in my Shuttle XPC.

I'm not sure about it being another full fat chip, surely they will need to have use for the harvested not quite up to scratch GM200 chips. Although there is enough of a gap between the 980 and the TitanX to have two cards, 980ti and 985 maybe.

there is a good reason why it has to be full fat TX..........because the 390X is probably up to TX standard already, but MILES CHEAPER.

Nvidia therefore need the same card yet again, but MILES CHEAPER, but not to annoy everyone, they've had to reduce the RAM to 6gb

why not reduce the price of TX next month

...... they cant do that or there will be a flipping riot !!

from researching tonight it looks the same card but with reduced RAM

6gb would be more than enough for me, im running 4k now with 780 ti's in sli, and not played a game that goes above 2.9 gb, what games are you guys playing that need more than 3gb.

Was so hard to resist getting the 980 but I hung in there and managed, will be getting a 980 Ti this summer by the sounds of it hopefully

!

My intel i7 930 @ 3.8ghz is still holding up well but time for a gfx card upgrade I think even though this still runs most things great (especially older games)

I highly doubt that there will be a 3072 CUDA core 980 Ti. Titan X, unlike the original Titan, is not compute optimised and has the same FF64 limits of all other GeForce cards. Essentially if they release a 3072 core 980 Ti, it's only difference with the Titan X will be lower VRAM. That's not enough of a differentiator for two distinct models with big price difference. What about SLI? If the core is the same and all that's different is the amount of VRAM, they should even be able to SLI. CANT HAPPEN. NO WAY.

My guess is that the 980 Ti will be in the range of ~£600, has around 2500 CUDA cores, has 6GB, is 256-bit, and is slightly higher clocked than the Titan X so Titan X is roughly 20% faster and maybe 30% more expensive. When it's released, 980/970 will get a little cheaper.
