250 watt? Same as 780ti. Holy crap we have been spoiled by 970/980 power efficiency.
I have a Cooler Master V750S Gold 92% efficiency PSU. According to eXtreme Power Supply Calculator, with 2x 780ti SLI I end up with 599w minimum and 649w recommended, I'm hoping my 750watt will be up the job.
My system: 4790k, 16gb ddr3, 1 ssd, 1 hdd, 2 fan controllers and 7 fans)

I'm definitely interested in running the gtx980ti in SLI. I will sell my gtx970 wich I'm afraid won't cut it for the long term. Anyone know if I'm good with my setup? Its definitely a high quality psu, but not sure how accurate these calculators are.

Fact is 12GB is not necessary, in fact it's just there to take away from the fact you're only getting 33% performance over an 980 for £900.

£500 6GB 980ti is where the smart money goes.;)

Well my choice this year is clear now, 980ti + Gysnc 1440p 144hz, or 390X + Freesync 1440p 144hz...

Now to see which comes first and which delivers the best performance at those specs.

I game at 3440x1440p and a single 980 doesn't cut it for ultra/max settings.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of the 980Ti and 390X. The Titan X is great but for me the lack of after market coolers ruins its potential of low noise and heat which its current Maxwell brethren enjoy.

I seriously doubt the 980Ti will have the same amount of cores as the Titan though, if it did I would buy it in a heartbeat even if it was only 6GB (which admittedly would be a little disappointing but not unexpected).

Still might just buy the Titan now though, and avoid waiting the good couple of months it will take to bring these cards out.

Here we go, has 12GB at 1440 now 6GB is not enough. It's well enough.

Examples please. :)

My point was Raven was trying to make out now Nvidia has a 12GB card people will say nothing else is enough. Which isn't true.

I've been saying for ages that 8GB should be min for new 'High end' cards. Loads of oher people have said the same thing about AMD's upcoming GPU's. For their truly not to be limitation and have any future proofyness.

Here's a post I made in Nov 2014, http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=27245083&postcount=4 Shadow of Mordor using over 6GB. That's a 2014 game running at 1440P, what are future games going to be like? I guess it's ok if you don't want to be able to enable highest textures etc. I would expect new high end cards to have a bit of wiggle room. 8GB+ is perfect.

Here's another post from before the Titan X launched !! http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=27771876&postcount=24

So peeps have been saying this before Titan X even came along !!

A heart felt apologie will be sufficient :p

Your choices are clear based on a wccftech "article"?

Not so much the article but if they release the 980ti i doubt its going to be gimped, it will be better than the 980 and prob slightly worse than the TitanX.

390X was what i wanted but i have a dread feeling that its not going to live up to what i was hoping it would be.

End of the day either card should be decent for 1440 144hz gaming.
