Why do you think AMD refuses to keep up with the competition?

I don't think it is a case of they refuse to keep up, unfortunately I think it is a case of they are unable to keep up.

I mean to keep up they would have had to develop 3 brand new chips that could be used over 5 or 6 cards all in a single generation. AMD haven't done that for a long time. Cutting the R&D budget is only going to make things worse unfortunately.

Call me crazy, but I have this strong urge to get 2 980 TI's in SLI with my 144Hz 1440p RoG Swift. I have a EVGA Supernova 1000 P2 that should hopefully easily drive them fully oc'ed.

Although admittedly, I'm a little hesitant since this will be my first ever attempt at doing a multiple graphics card setup. Wondering how much strain SLI would put on my 4790K @ 4.8Ghz. I intend to utilize the fullest potential of such a setup, and I do not wish to upgrade to a 6 or 8 core.

For me to purchase these 980 TI's, I do have a few requirements.

1. No segmented VRAM, I want full 6GB pls.
2. No more then 700 euro's.
3. About equal or even slightly faster then Titan X on certain occasions (So far this seems to be the case)

I feel 6GB vram is a safe bet, by the time its not enough, we may be able to utilize stacked vram DX12 hopefully.
