*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

To people whining about Gigabyte shipments not coming in, there's two stuck in transit. Huge amounts of PPE equipment are currently being flooded into Europe. Shipping containers are literally having to be left on the ships to wait until the medical equipment is unloaded. I have this sourced from people in the business.

Chill your titays, they haven't disappeared they're just backlogged.

Wait, so they were shipped rather than air-freighted? Well it e
There's no point saying how many spaces I've moved for the Strix non-OC because I know there haven't been any in. Just a handful of cancellations. Beginning to think something fishy is going on. Nvidia, Asus and OCUK can't all be this incompetent. They knew Ampere would be a frenzy of demand at this price point, and they've kept promising that production would be ramping up and November would see loads more cards coming in but there's been no definitive word of any on the way. I wonder if there's something wrong with the inherent design and that higher end manufacturers are intentionally keeping quantities low because they don't want to have to handle large numbers of returns, or maybe they were so petrified of AMD kicking their arse on the benchmarks and everyone cancelling orders that they held off full scale production until the scores were in.

If they are incompetent then so is h
Just posted this on Asus Facebook page.

Hey Asus are you actually making any Strix 3080 OC's? There are 1200 people waiting for this card with one supplier alone in the UK. In the last 2 weeks overclockers UK have received 0 stock. Many people gave up hope after months of waiting and cancelled their orders.

Not to mention the 1000's of people waiting for the other ASUS variants. I believe they have received 0 stock of the non-oc TUF, since launch again with 1000+ waiting.

I have always been a great fan of ASUS in terms of reliability and customer service and have in my 30 years of experience with computers always recommended you.

Have a read of overclockers 3080 forum and give you an idea of how annoyed former loyal customers are.

If others try it as well then maybe it will embarrass them into doing something to fix this.
A few 1000 polite messages explaining the situation we are all in atm is not great advertising. (NO BLATENT ABUSE PLEASE)
How do you know that Asus haven't made the cards already, and they aren't just stuck on a pallet somewhere, in the "Covid-queue"?

Nvidia is a joke. Completely fkcud this up they have. This wasnt a release date. It was a damn preorder date
Its nothing to do with covid or logistics because i deal with suppliers in china on other electronic goods and everything is back to normal over there in terms of work and production. So OC sayings its a china issue is pathetic. It is nvidia making cards only once they know how many people want. However there just in time production chain is a complete and utter mess.

I think all of us should get off this forum and get onto twitter on there twitter page and basically spam demand our cards. This forum is a silent forum for them. Its pointless here.

Its 2 months. The ramping up of production should have happend in the first 2 weeks. 2 months on and still out of stock basically means we are not getting these cards anytime soon and its all thanks to Nvidia.

Why the heck would you make a release date knowing you wont be able to make cards. Did they expect to sell only 10 in every country. No they knew this would happen. They want people to buy the card at double the price which is the 3090 which costs them only slightly more in production costs but they charge double the amount in the market

This is a money grabbing excercise. The only thing we can do is cancel and get a radeon to hit nvidia hard on this. But we wont.

Robdogs.

It's a graphics card mate. Stay calm.

And it's not a money grabbing exercise, they just royally messed up.

GIGABYTE RTX 3080 Gaming OC (18/09 - 11:01)

02/10 - 237
15/10 - 216
23/10 - 208
30/10 - 199
06/11 - 188
13/11 - 139
20/11 - 138

To that brave soul that cancelled in front of me. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

*hits bottle*
That might have been me. I cancelled because I managed to get a card from a competitor.

It's not just a graphics card though is it it's 650 quid + depending what card they purchased . People have the right to be ****** off

Nvidia aren’t really profiting from this though. The increases in prices almost certainly go to the AIBs, distribution (which is a right mess in the UK atm) and overclockers.

Word. Getting increasingly sick of the “it’s just a thing” whataboutery brigade that like to parade around here like they’re the voice of reason.

Coming into a thread that is literally for people to complain about a product and sneering when that’s exactly what they find is a whole level of cognitive dissonance I can’t fathom.

Oh I agree they ain't but overclockers are . And by the numbers of other competitors oc are getting them at lower numbers . Whoever's to blame someone's still sitting on people hard earn cash . So they still have a right to be ******

Yep and here's the thing as a consumer we actually can't do nothing but get shafted . And they know it . Sure I can cancel but then being under 100 I expect to get it soon instead I'm waiting every week and not really seeing a change . Then if I cancel do I want to pay 100+ more . I'm sick of it

100% with you.

As consumers we should continue to rattle OC cage because that’s the only means of recourse we have. They should be complaining to their suppliers and nvidia.

The just cancel brigade miss the point entirely, and are just shilling.

Yep if I find it somewhere else I may have to just jump ship . Oc have lost my custom for future releases . The thing that will hurt the most is seeing the 3070 priced at 600-650 now . I payed 650 for the 3080 ventus so it'll be a shame

I see your predicament, but what would you do if you were still roughly in the same queue place in say, January?

There is also the option that OC will have to start mass cancelling orders as some cards might not even be able to gotten hold of. A lot of wasted time.

I am still looking at other places to see if I can get one . Even if I don't want to pay the extra 100 I'll rather have the card then be f'd around tbh. But as I said it'll be a shame

I wondered what the demand was like so I checked the Roll of Honour for the 1070 vs 3080:

Roll of honour 1070 over 9 months = 148
Roll of honour 3080 over 2 months = 89

Highlighting the current demand for these cards, at this rate 3080 will sell some 400 cards for the Roll of honour list crowd over the same time period. Of course that number drops off if supply can't keep up.

It was not the only recourse for me. My recourse was to cancel well over a £1000 of orders so ocuk can not make a profit from me and i will also always take the time to let others know how bad they think they can treat their customers so they make less of a profit in the future.

This is entirely legitimate, but for me, lets them off the hook. I intend to hang on until the bitter end to get my card, then never give them another red cent. :D

I can fully understand people keeping their orders in to avoid the scalping what ocuk seems to be doing lately but i do worry a lot of people are going to get more stressed over the next few months while waiting for them.
