*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

True.

But if one pays cash for the treatment there is no waiting...
Well some people in these threads have been acting like they paid for cancer treatment and DAY BY DAY THEY'RE DYING because they're not getting their GPU. It's amusing. Like I get the frustration, but come on.

PrincessFrosty..

Problem with that is with the swapping of cards going on, up until now you couldn’t really produce a definite list of people’s positions and when you should receive your card as the lists were constantly changing between GPU’s. Now that has stopped the list has been frozen in effect they can give you an idea.

Imagine what a live list would have produced, people would see which cards were the more likely to be available first so would move to those producing anger from those finding themselves being bumped down the list.

This and a lack of a definite response Email wise from OC regarding what is happening or reassuring customers who have been left in the dark has left a nasty taste and although not totally of their making, they have done scant damage limitation In response, they have lost me for one as a future customer.
It might not have been all their fault, but when you read of the likes of the Irish chap that posted who has had the monies taken from his PayPal account but NOTHING else email wise regarding his order, that’s not just shocking, that’s **** poor management and customer relations.

I don't know there's good evidence that people were changing between GPUs to any large degree, and that doesn't really matter anyway for several different reasons. First of all the cards arrive in batches, so your queue position would need to be bumped quite significantly before you risk getting your delivery any later than before. Second of all if queue swapping was going on in any kind of large quantity and it's somewhat random then there's probably just as many people leaving your queue ahead of you as those being added ahead of you. There's almost certainly more people who have straight up cancelled their orders and lowered all the queues enough to cancel out any bias in this swapping orders problem.

Anyway I kinda sit in the middle on this I see it from both sides, people are ****** off and I don't think that's unreasonable, if we see some movement from OCUK in the next few days on queues and positions and stuff I think a lot of this will de-escallate. It's a real management type thing to say but managing expectations is super important, it's what you learn super fast as you move up in a career to any kind of people management or position of responsibility, you can get away with murder if you manage peoples expectations about the outcome properly, that's what we desperately need here for the customers.

oh man i love it when people tell others how they should feel.
telling someone to calm down on the internet is as effective as it is saying it to their face :)

moving on, fingers crossed for some more updates today! specifically, i'm interested in any gigabyte eagle news

it's due - store were meant to get stock 30th - 2nd. Still no update though.

First time I've actually signed up on a retailer forum, but what on earth is happening here? I've paid more than £700 for a product on pre-order, the money has been taken, and after two weeks the retailer can't provide any information on likely time to delivery or be in stock. Not 'this month', not 'this year'. Nothing.

I've spoken to Customer Service and got a sarcastic post saying 'read the forum'. Is this a joke? A thread where someone occasionally posts 'got some today'.

Appreciate you don't want competitor discussion, fine, but this is way below the standard of doing business in your (or any) market.

It's arse gravy of the very worst kind, eh.

I'm the same as you. I do not enjoy talking to people on the internet, but in this case I was advised by OC CS to join the forum, only for the forum to be filled seemingly exclusively with people who are either in the same boat as me, or who want to tell me to stop discussing it.

Frankly I don't mind a delay. We're in the middle of a pandemic, chrissakes, and this is a popular product. But I do have a huge problem with a complete stranger taking my money then patting me on the head and telling me not to worry about it. I feel like I've been mugged.

But the question is, what will turn up first...

Our queue position emails?
Our cards?
The next George R.R Martin book, 'Winds of Winter'?
Half-Life 3?
A covid vaccine?

(This post is satire, plz don't hurt me XD)

Same... Also, what does it mean "small amount" why on earth they can't be specific in this matter? Is it so hard to give as a pure number for every card and current stock situation/process?

But its obvious that information on delivery dates and stock refreshes are available. Friends buying elsewhere have had this information. I don't care if the answer is 'EVGA XC3? We've got no stock in the next three weeks but a batch is scheduled last week of October'. But this is just... zero communication, and fob off by customer service to read a useless forum thread.

Spoke to someone at OC re my order. Last week i swapped for the Gigabyte 3080 Eagle to the Gigabyte 3080 Gaming. he told me I was 350th in the que for the Gaming and would have been 1000th in the que for the eagle. i ordered on the 17th at 14:36.

i decided at that point to cancel my order
