*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

For ASUS cards, at least from before launch it seems cards were being sent out in waves. TUF non OC was in stock first, then the TUF OC and now the STRIX OC. This looks like it has been the same all over the world as it’s always the same cards you see being purchased or delivered.
Hopefully we will get some TUF in again soon.
As for the STRIX non oc, I’m not sure for Europe. We have been told they are all being produced equally, but obviously not sure if that is true now.

Is it morally fair though that some people ordered on the site very early but happened to choose a card that overclockers have never had stock of, and probably won't for months (e.g. EVGA and some ASUS non OC cards). Those people may not get a card for months through no fault of their own

Still it wasnt fair for those who ordered the OC version me included to have to wait longer because of the queue jumping

You swap over you should be back of the queue at the point in time simple as

So you think we might cycle back to a new wave of non OC?

Is it morally fair that somebody gets to just pass their misfortune on to somebody else? Nope. This misfortune is between OC and the customer. To penalise somebody completely unrelated is basically retarded.
I agree, you have to consider overall fairness.

Three words that you aren't gonna like "Subject to availabilty". Personally I don't want another Ubisoft paint by numbers game...Hopefully they will be running a Cyber punk promo by the time my order completes hehe...

Yeah I expected it to be a "Subject to availability" thing. But I like to be a glass half full kind of person. I mean its not gunna be a massive dissapointment if I dont get the game code with it. But be a nice bonus if I do.

I’m hoping so, yeah. I have a feeling no
Strix non oc will be coming so it would
Make sense the next batch will be non oc TUF.
If the whole 144 hour test is actually real then this would make sense to why they are slower at leaving the factory.
I reckon when production ramps up and we may see them come closer together.

OcUK got 1000 codes from Nvidia, and a lot more orders. They're waiting for Nvidia to send them more.
Ive been told they are unlikely to get more :(

Tbh thats no reason to push somebody else down the queue. I ordered an eagle oc because the site had a delivery date. that has long passed and myself and others are in queues that we never really wanted to be in. Is it fair that we should prevent somebody getting a card that happened to choose the card thats moving?
It is what it is. nobody should have been or be allowed to swap queue if it puts somebody else at a dissadvantage. Sure swap to a shorter queue and be at the back but not swap and push somebody else back. thats just wrong on so many levels

I think what irks people the most is that someone, somewhere knows exactly where stock is and when it would arrive and either is not allowed to say or just can't be bothered to feed it through to the customer.

I'm really struggling to believe the phone call from OC to a supplier is like:

When will we get more card X?
I don't know
Ok then, bye

If I was sold it and it's in my confirmation email, I should get it IMO. Otherwise I'd like something else as a goodwill offer. Wouldn't you?

I think it’s more like the disti would tell oc. “We ordered 10000 of x from y .. they last sent us 30. The manufacturer can’t tell us when we are getting the rest of the 9970 we are waiting for so we can’t tell you an eta either. Sorry”

did you see the thing from the retailer in Denmark showing they amount of cards they ordered for release day and the amount they received ? It was like 2000 ASUS ordered , 10 received.
And that was across the board on all cards.

Nvidia will likely honour it, they're probably just negotiating the rates with Ubisoft.
i hope so but starting to think thats probably wishful thinking at this point.

ofc we would but what we going to do if not. complain more than we are already lmao.

No it goes more like.
When will we get more card x?
We sent a large amount direct to your competitors, An ok amount to your distributors and you should get a smallish amount of that.
Oh ok. So what does smallish amount mean?

If they know there won't be a delivery for two months they will not tell you because they want to keep your money in their account. Just imagine how much customers money they are holding right now, if they have a 600k overdraft they are paying rip off interest on, with ll our money sat in their account they are in credit and paying nothing, so they want it for as long as possible before you cancel.

The fainess is a you put a order in thats the queue your in..You want to change your card wait in turn for that card within that queue system

I know they have sorted that mess out now but still should not have happend
I agree, just to be clear.

You can't just take the money and do nothing about the listed product, right?

Really it's a legal thing at a certain point. Provide the described goods or refund?

Boats take a while to travel as well :(
True. Let's hope they left a while ago and with more than 'small' or even 'okay' stock supplies, haha
