*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Remember guys....

"Overclockers UK is one of Nvidia’s biggest partners which guarantees they will always be one of the first to acquire stock in the UK."

Today I'm both bored and ****** off, and for some reason this compels me to turn that sentence into a haiku (taking some liberties to fit it into the 17 syllable limit). Ahem, here goes:

One of Nvidia’s biggest
partners will always be first
to acquire stock

Yes I would. I know what I signed on for with my manufacturer. If my card was discontinued I'd probably just refund and buy a 2080 until the whole mess was sorted.

I wouldn't have any other choice but to join the back of the queue. Do you know how many people have ordered that card? Do you know how many people would jump infront of others, pushing them back even further, maybe even weeks to months further and the fall out that would occur because of it? On one hand, you'd be helping others, on the others, you'd be sabotaging others.

Would you really be fine with 200+ people jumping infront of you, switched cards (granted no fault of their own), when you've sat waiting patiently? No you wouldn't and it's not fair. I get the situation, but it's not OCUK fault for the discontinuation and it's not any other persons fault on the forum and the rest of us waiting shouldn't be affected by it.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind. ASUS and OCUK are to blame for listing cards on release day that didn't exist. It's not fair that someone was able to order and pay for a card that isn't being produced so they should be given the option to switch.

Round of applause and all, but really, is this what we have been driven to!!!

I have no problems with people switching, I have problems with people retaining their queue position like I said. There is where my problem lies and is also a reason OCUK stopped allowing queue jumping as they realised it was both stupid and unfair.

Also, OCUK didn't realise the Asus situation (if it's real anyway). Granted they should have stopped preorders and actually expected the stock situation. Afterall... they're in the best position :\

Cool... and what are you going to do when you don't get your demand? Go on strike?

we will know how we are getting screwed by OCUK.
OCUK is not even sending out queue update emails.

What will i do? I came across OCUK during this launch, i am a new customer, however i WILL NOT be back once i get my card.

I understand how you feel, lots of people feel the same... this is why I can't understand how they dropped the ball in such a big way. Unfortunately people (in general) are fickle, and when stock returns and people get their stock they will forget about this and OCUK's strategy of keeping us in a holding pattern will have paid off as they will suddenly have 1000's of orders which they should be able to fulfil easily (eventually).

If people really would walk and not return business in future then ocuk would not be doing this... but they know that is not the case.

You make a lot of sense, but I'm already in tears with toys fully out of the pram. Let's see.
There's no way they wouldn't produce the none oc cards at all imho. They need to put the chips that dont hit the OC mark somewhere. the tuf and strix are aimed at different groups else they wouldn't have them all in the first place. With that said and assuming they are binning their chips the non oc are going to be a lot slower whilst demand for oc is there.

For anybody who wants a strix or tuf oc you really are better off looking elsewhere. I spoke to a competitor who i wont name so dont ask and they have a batch of strix & tuf oc coming in tomorrow with their next batch of strix and tuf oc mid nov. Their queues for nov delivery are currently 7 and 9 respectively so they are elsewhere if you don't mind doing the legwork and asking the questions, with queues that size i can't see anybody having to wait long at all. I was super impressed by this company's honestly and openess that i have placed an order with them. As soon as it comes i'll likely be cancelling my order with OC as the free code we were promised seems like its not going to exist by the time we get our cards lol

Me waiting after they said production would start to ramp in October and it's now the 14th and nothing has been done.

There's a difference, they stopped people switching because people just wanted to receive their card sooner so switched to smaller queues. If it was the case that ASUS were no longer producing non overclocked versions of their cards then the only logical solution is to give people the option of a refund or switch to the OC version of the same card. And yes they should retain their queue position because if they ordered on release day why should they then have to join the back of the queue a month later through no fault of their own? If you ordered a card a week after the release you kinda shoulda known it would take a while to get it

I'm not going to argue with you my lad. You're entitled to your opinion and me, mine.

We're all in the same boat, and we shouldn't be having a go at one another. Situation is a mess because Nvidia, the manufacturers and OCUK really dropped the ball and screwed the pooch. I hope you get your card mate.

How I see it.

1-5 = Oh come on!!!
5-15 = FFS Really?
15-30 = They're still taking the ****
30-60 = A drop in the ocean
60-100 = That will take me down to three digits, yay!
100-250 = Oh great! just in time for the first Cyberpunk DLC
250+ I see the 3080 Super has been announced.

Agreed and just for the record I didn't order a TUF and I also think all cards are still being produced based off what the ROG Facebook page said :)

there's no difference i'm afraid. nobody knew the situation or how things would pan out. people would be switching queues to receive a card sooner. how would you like to be shoved 3-400 (or more) places DOWN a queue just because a load of other people made the wrong choice. For OC to even consider that an option would be very stupid tbh. The issue if there even is one is between the buyer and OC. Knowing OC they will make another queue to appease those that switch lmao. i really doubt it will come to that though. If you switch product for any reason you should go to the back of that queue. Its the only fair way imho

Not to mention it seems that you get around 39 cards per pallet and 20 pallets in a full container so roughly 780 per container. There is no wonder shortages are expected well into 2021.
