I'm currently sitting on a 1660 and play mostly Warzone on PC and have a 140hz monitor and even at medium settings I struggle to get 60fps in game I prob have to go down to 1080p just to maintain the FPS
As it's looking like it's going to be months before I get my 3080 ive been wanting a 240hz Samsung monitor for a while but concerned if I wait to buy it until I get my 3080 which is god knows how long I might be out of luck
Anyone else upgraded from 140 to 240hz monitor would you say it's worth it?

Wow it really doesn’t matter if someone used finance to get a card or not. We’re all grown adults and if someone wants to spend a little money a month on something that gives them enjoyment then that’s entirely their business. People work hard for every penny they have so should spend it however they see fit and if they spend it on something that gives them enjoyment then power to them. Didn’t realise this was such an elitist forum.

Interest? On a business account? Where?

Having owned a business for many years, most businesses have a business savings account that runs along side there business current account. When I was purchasing stock for my business my suppliers would normally have a 30 - 60 or 90 days invoice depending on how much credit insurance you could get with that particular supplier, for example if I purchased £900k of stock on a 90 day invoice, I would move the £900k into our business savings account until the date which the invoice needed to be paid this would then earn us interest on this capital.

If you look at any of the business saving accounts there are offering 0.5% interest on these balances (just took this information from google). So in OC case if they moved the £6.5million they have from pre-orders into there business savings account every month they would be earning £32,500 AER of interest every month they hold the funds. They would then receive an invoice for cards they have received and pay these dependent on there credit terms with their supplier.

So to say that OC are not getting any interest from the millions of pounds they are holding is just crazy.

you would be surprised. If rumours are true then nvidia have played a blinder tbh. Faced with a direct choice im sure most would pick nvidia plus now a lot of people have bought into the idea of the 3080 that may not have before. If there's supply of both at the same time then nvidia are just going to rub amds nose in it a little more. It doesn't suit us but from a business point of view it might be considered genius :D

I'm not expecting Navi to be better than the 3080 but if its somewhere near and at a good price and actually available to buy then that will do.

Spot on. Coincidentally Palit replied to my post on Twitter and advised that a batch is due to go out next week. They say they can't fully control stocking with retailers, so I have no idea which shipment represents which batch that goes out from here.

From what I've seen, when stock leaves China, about 3 - 4 working days later a batch leaves here, so I'm hoping it's those same batches, as they're currently being air shipped.

Whilst Palit are a bit late with replies, they seem to be doing a better job than most other manufacturers/retailers.

Same boat. Almost same monitor. It's too good to have to replace it yet.

It literally is too good to lose. I have a PG279Q and had a 1080ti and I loved gsync. Sadly the card died and I got a 5700XT purely for the price and 2 free games as I always planned to get a 3080. So now I don't have Gsync I miss it badly and you really notice the issues without it. So for that reason, even if the 6900XT matches a 3080 I still won't get one due to gsync. Having to buy a new monitor on top of the GPU kills whatever value AMD might have for me. Plus these AMD drivers are bad, I've had more issues in the last 2 months with this card than I ever had in 3 years with my old 1080ti (RIP). Just wish we would start getting decent shipments...

Had a queue update the other day for my Aorus Xtreme 3080. 109, down from 115. I couldn't update previously as I was given a forum ban for talking code about a temporary card I picked up.

I just hope OCUK managed to snag more than 6 cards per SKU this time because this is ridiculous from a company that claims they have the best chances at stock. As it stands we have more of a chance that Boris Johnson will sort his hair out!

Im 1332 in the queue. Covid might get me before this card gets to me. Would be nice if the manufacturers could give an idea at how many they can produce per day / week. Mines an MSI card so I guess that has to go from NVIDIA then to MSI for branding and front panel / fanning then off out to the retailers.

Afternoon guys, I currently have the maximum allowance of £50,000 in premium bonds, £46,000 in a cash ISA and I have..... oops, sorry! I thought I was on the Money Saving Expert forum.
I'll be back in a bit to see if there are any 3080 updates.

It's looking like about 10 cards each, and 1 shipment per week. Getting close to Navi now, I'll see what they bring as well.

Let's hope this ramps up towards the end of the month. AMD is a no go for me, after losing Gsync and dealing with their awful drivers I'd rather wait for a 3080. People seem to be overlooking the AMD issues as we get closer to their announcement. It's a case of fool me once with AMD GPUs. They still haven't fixed Navi so I don't have much confidence with the new ones. Look how quick Nvidia fixed the 3080 crashing compared to the 12+ months of issues people still have with Navi. Had I not got 2 free games with this card which was also on sale at the time I wouldn't have gotten one and still have slight regrets lol

you're looking at about 133 weeks at the current rate (2 years 29wks), perhaps longer as it depends on how many go into the systems people can buy with a shiny new 3080 in.

..I forgot to allow for Christmas, Easter and any other world holiday - so add another 23 weeks to make a nice round 3 years.

1 position movement for Strix 3080 non OC, Good luck everyone.

If I wasn't sitting on a G-Sync only monitor I most likely would jump off the queue if team red had anything close to the 3080 for performance

Same here. My biggest regret at the minute was locking tying myself down to Nvidia only cards by buying a G-Sync monitor at the start of the year.

Had I foreseen this happening, I would have never purchased it and gone for a cheaper Freesync monitor so I could wait for the AMD offering.
