*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

If you look at any of the business saving accounts there are offering 0.5% interest on these balances (just took this information from google). So in OC case if they moved the £6.5million they have from pre-orders into there business savings account every month they would be earning £32,500 AER of interest every month they hold the funds.

Small correction there, that would be £32,500 a year, not per month, and most if not all accounts paying anything close to that interest rate have a cap, typically £2m on the account.

Uncapped accounts are typically paying 0.005%.

As others have mentioned, the most utility they get comes from offsetting any overdraft facilities they may have but even that is minor compared to the advantage they get when the supply chain actually gets moving and large volumes of stock arrive to fill the huge number of prepaid orders they have...

I wouldn't be banking too hard on cards getting cheaper based on exchange rates folks... if today's announcement is any indication that exchange rate is going to get a lot worse in the next few months

That certainly looks like imminent doom.... how will the economy recover after losing 0.005 pence?

Let's hope this ramps up towards the end of the month. AMD is a no go for me, after losing Gsync and dealing with their awful drivers I'd rather wait for a 3080. People seem to be overlooking the AMD issues as we get closer to their announcement. It's a case of fool me once with AMD GPUs. They still haven't fixed Navi so I don't have much confidence with the new ones. Look how quick Nvidia fixed the 3080 crashing compared to the 12+ months of issues people still have with Navi. Had I not got 2 free games with this card which was also on sale at the time I wouldn't have gotten one and still have slight regrets lol

Does your monitor not support Freesync/Adaptive Sync?

To add to the "how many Trios shipped" mystery, I just talked to OCUK follow up about my personal queue number oddities (and that I got a queue update despite they saying two weeks ago they'd remove me and handle me manually), and since I'm waiting on a Trio they checked how many arrived/shipped yesterday. Answer was 10. So, on the line between small and very small, but from what we are seeing here 12th got shipped instead of 5th, and the early queue only shrank by 6 or 7?

Its really getting harder to keep the tone of optimisum I've been trying for (this topic is already wall to wall complaints, I'm trying not to make it worse), since the answers, looking through even the most rose tinited glasses, more and more seem to only be explained by incompetence or delibrate unfairness.

Phone queue was only 5 minutes so if someone (ideally @SecretLife, since he was 5th) wants to ask for answers now would be a good time.

just talked to OC on the phone about my position as haven’t moved from 5th position for the MSI trio x in weeks. They said that small batch the other day hasn’t come in yet

Is this going to be it from Zotac now, they only send us Trinity OC just like with the Asus TUF non OC versions. So we that ordered the non OC will have to wait for god know how much longer that the people who ordered the OC version four days after us. If the Trinity OC was there to pre order on launch I would have ordered that. I have a feeling that Zotac are not going to produce the base cards and Just rebrand them as OCs as the overclock is joke anyway.

Thanks for this info saves me a call - that explains why I received an position update mail yesterday with the same number again. Did you receive an update yesterday aswell ?

I come from a not-so-lucky economic background, and I can tell you: for a LOT of people, and I mean A LOT, it doesn't "take probably a year or so of being frugal" to flip from purchasing luxuries on debt to purchasing them on our own savings. Every time I hear this ******** I know that it comes from someone who didn't have any money problem, ever - I lived frugally, and I mean really frugally, for several years trying to build my savings, but any small issue like a boiler needing repairs or an increase in my train season ticket would bring me back to square 1. Do you know what actually flips you from buying always on debt (not just "the luxuries") to purchasing on your own savings? Luck. I went from having to rely on my debit card for purchasing groceries, to having enough money in my savings that I can buy a whole new PC built around an RTX 3080 cash on hand, because I got lucky enough to be accepted in a job that I was not initially qualified for.

It's just wrong, I was poor for most of my life especially as a young person, it took decades of working hard to progress a career into more money. That's actually a good argument for avoiding credit and therefore interest because when you're hard up that interest hits you much harder, especially if your base interest rates is higher because you're high risk for lending.

If you can buy something on credit and then afford the monthly payments to pay that off, then you can do that in reverse which is save that money to one side every month until you have some savings, it's mathematically the same thing, but doing it the 2nd way avoids any interest so it's cheaper in the long run. All for the sake of a waiting a bit.

If you look on OC website they aren't even taking pre-orders for the non OC my guess is they have no idea when/if they are getting more so much for my position one in the queue think I better start looking elsewhere

“Inno3D are shipping us a close to large shipment”

I don’t understand why they don’t just use numbers? Who knows what close to large means?

This shipment is for three types of cards of Inno3D, I am queue position 33 for the Twin X2 OC, so will I get a card this shipment?

For the love of god OC, will you just ring your damn suppliers and read out, word-for-word, what they're telling you about upcoming deliveries for each card. I'm sick and tired of all this cloak and daggers ********.

wrong, your life is dictated by so many things you have no control over, where and when you were born, your parents etc hard work is only a tiny percent, there are plenty of people who work hard and are careful but find themselves on the wrong end of lady luck. Life is full of chance encounters, misfortune etc.
