Damn, I'll probably hit 100 but won't be ordering from OCUK again any time soon after this.
Only 4 of my posts have been outside this thread anyway
So I guess that is how many this size of a company can produce a month. 5000 per week. I wonder who is bigger, MSi, ASUS etc and how many they are able to produce ?
If Foxconn are able to stuff the boards then the limiting factor will be the number of Ampere chips available and how Nvidia decides to distribute them. MSI and Asus both use Foxconn for motherboard stuffing and other electronics they produce.
Erm I've seen zero evidence to support that theory. On the other hand Nvidia are not the only ones suffering this way, Microsoft Xbox launch pre orders have sold out and they are in the same position as we are re new stock arriving. It is 100% a shortage of Chips issue. Nvidias fault
I've gone past disappointed and am well into mad. No 3080. No Jaffa Cakes.Me reading this thread every morning with my coffee and my jaffa cakes
This is the point where we just give up and bend over and waitI've gone past disappointed and am well into mad. No 3080. No Jaffa Cakes.
Wow those are some weak numbers
Palit can crank out 4 million GPU's a year plus 4 million motherboards

Again im probably not allowed to mention these names. Sorry if i have broken protocol.
I just spoke to a competitor and they get confirmation of stock for the next week or two for each AIB, which they share to the customers. Hopefully this translates fairly closely with OC stock so I can use their info for my order here as OC tell me nothing of use. Some other retailers are sharing their hopes and expectations, that is not what Gibbo said he would do.
They are the only ones to have said that and it could be a junior staff member for all we know. There is zero other evidence to support this as a reason, and in fact Nvidia themselves say yields are good and the problem is not at their end (aside from blaming us the customers of course)
that's my thought too. id say its more someone looking at the trend and saying something to make nvidia look bad for whatever reason. stock will increase slowly around november probably, and he can go look see! more stock, i was kind of right. the big drop was canceled bc we found out, etc.Nah, it's a bad idea marketing-wise to cut it close. If nvidia were trying to shut down big navi, they'd need enough cards for ALL current customers asap. The second those AMD cards drop, people will start to cancel existing nvidia orders and nvidia will be losing out more than if they'd just sent all cards to begin with. So, while it'd be nice to imagine this huge swarm of cards on the horizon, it wouldn't make sense for nvidia to take that approach.
If the problem wasn't at Nvidia's end, wouldn't there be more than plenty FE's available. They are the only ones to have said that and it could be a junior staff member for all we know. There is zero other evidence to support this as a reason, and in fact Nvidia themselves say yields are good and the problem is not at their end (aside from blaming us the customers of course)
So what is the situation for next week?I just spoke to a competitor and they get confirmation of stock for the next week or two for each AIB, which they share to the customers. Hopefully this translates fairly closely with OC stock so I can use their info for my order here as OC tell me nothing of use.
It's quite strange how Asus seem to be the only AIB affected by golden week. Unless they were shipping faster than everyone else and the golden week delay was felt sooner (i.e. this week) and others will see delays next week.
You do know Nvidia had an investigation into a leak at the boards manufacturers don't you? BYD manufactures the heatsink, Foxconn stuff the boards ! You are actually proving my point by using the FE !If the problem wasn't at Nvidia's end, wouldn't there be more than plenty FE's available.
